Bobbi Brown Ultra Nude Palette Review and Swatches

I was obscenely excited about the launch of Bobbi Brown’s Neons and Nudes Collection as it’s a line that’s so up my street.  I purchased both the blush and the palette, and I’ll be reviewing the blush soon.  For now, here are my thoughts on the palette.

It’s a collection of six nude shades with varying levels of shimmer and intensity.  The packaging on the outside is the usual BB black with white lettering, but on the inside it’s a fabulous bright pink which, of course, pleases me immensely.  Inside you have the 6 shades plus a double-ended brush; one end is an angled eye shadow brush and the other is an eye liner.  I was a bit surprised about the inclusion on the eyeliner as I first thought that it was the type of brush that needed to be used with the gel liners, but having tried it with the shadows in the palette, it works really well at creating a smudgy, smoky line around the eye.

All shades are really wearable, and I really love the fact that several different finishes have been included for creating so many different looks.  I’ve worn a different colour each day to give the palette a good workout and if I had to pick fault with it, I’d say that Cocoa Berry is one that you can’t just smear over your eyes and go with as it’s a very dark finish that needs quite a bit of blending.  However, you can smudge it all around the eyes as a messy line for an easy smoky eye.

Very rarely do I get excited about a range and find it lives up to the OTT hype I’ve created, but I’m pleased to say that I’m thrilled with this palette and will continue to experiment on a daily basis.  This is a fantastic investment for anyone who wants a palette of wearable, easy to work with shades that can be dressed down for day or pumped up for night.  Available at Bobbi Brown stores and online at the Bobbi Brown store here for £39.
