On top of the gorgeous new Christmas offerings from Bobbi Brown, we’ve also got the arrival of a new edit: The Old Hollywood Collection. As you’d expect, the products are pure old-school glamour, focusing on shimmery shades of bronze, gold and champagne in the Old Hollywood Eye Palette and dark and vampy red lips courtesy of the new lipstick shade Old Hollywood.
There are actually quite a few new arrivals that form the Old Hollywood Collection, most of which are limited edition, including 2 new glitter nail varnishes (I love the fact that they’re very slowly rolling out new shades for their polishes rather than bombarding us with a massive new collection, I feel like it’s a very “Bobbi Brown” approach to such things!) and 2 new varnish shades, a new red lipgloss and 3 new High Shimmer Lipgloss shades – Rose looks beautiful – as well as the aforementioned palette and some new Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick shades, 2 out of 3 of which are limited edition. As you can read, the bulk of the new arrivals are limited edition, so if you see something you fancy then you’ll need to act fast.
To be honest, I’m not 100% sure on this look at Katie Holmes. The thing I really like about her is how she’s always very fresh faced and natural, which of course this look isn’t, but maybe I’m just not used to seeing her all vamped up! Weirdly, even though this look – black liner and red lips – isn’t something I like on Katie, it’s very much a look I go for, so I would happily wear it myself and have done a few times on the blog.
The thing that is currently exciting me the most is the arrival of the new Ink Liner in Blackest Black, which thankfully isn’t limited edition. I wouldn’t normally be someone who gets excited by an eyeliner, especially a felt tip style one, but initial reviews state this to be pretty amazing, so I’m looking forward to trying it. The whole collection is available now, both instore and online – link – and prices start at £11 for the polishes and go up to £59 for the nine pan palette.
