Hugo Boss Jour Pour Femme

I hope you like your perfume as there are some amazing SS14 launches in the fragrance world, some of which I’ve been lucky enough to sample so I’ll be sharing my thoughts with you soon.  However, today I’m reviewing a fragrance that’s been around for a little while, Jour Pour Femme from Hugo Boss.  Absolutely ages ago I got a whiff of this during a shopping trip and it was promptly added to my wish list, then a few weeks later I was sent it for review; it’s so wonderful receiving perfumes that I know I already like!

This is an extremely fresh and summery floral scent that’s grown-up rather than sickly.  On first spray you’re hit with a burst of floral and citrus that settles into the white flower heart notes.   These are all held well by the slightly woody base notes that keep this fragrance sophisticated and stop it moving into soapy territory.  The notes are:

Top: Lime and Grapefruit Blossom
Middle: White Flowers, Freesia, Honeysuckle and Lily of the Valley
Base: Birch and Amber

I absolutely love the base notes as they do such a good job at holding the fragrance together; with so many pretty, girly white floral notes this scent could’ve taken a very sickly turn, but the punchy top notes and woody base notes make this an extremely feminine scent with a bit of an edge.  As this has been around quite a while there are some good deals to be found, so if this sounds like a scent you’d like then it’s worth shopping around.  All Beauty currently have 50ml for under £30 (normally around £50) so head here to find out more – link.
