New Shades of Seventeen Quicker Slicker Nail Polish

I am so impressed with these seasonal offerings from Seventeen’s Quicker Slicker nail polish range as they’re bright, fun and don’t follow the stereotypical pastel route…that I’m aversed to a bit of pastel, but I do love a bright nail! There’s a massive 3for2 promo going on at Boots at the mo and it includes these lovely polishes, so if you’re looking for an excuse to haul some beauty, here it is…

The five shades I have are Royal Indigo (purple), Fuchsiaristic (blue toned pink), Holiday Romance (brilliant bright pink), Dark Heart (traditional, true red) and Red Heat (coral-leaning red).  Holiday Romance is beautiful – I have it on my toes right now – but there isn’t actually a shade I don’t like in this collection.  All shades are punchy, fun and extremely summery.

The texture is lovely and one coat provides good coverage, but, as is usually the case, two coats give the best finish.  I have Red Heat – a really lovely tropical shade of coral with only the slightest hint of orange – on my fingers and I’ve had a couple of comments on it since it went on yesterday.

I was having a bit of a play with the shades as they work well at gradients in ombre-style nails, and above is the result! Obviously it’s better on real nails or over a coat of white polish, but it still delivers a decent level of coverage which is impressive for such a cheap polish.

You haven’t got long to take advantage of the 3for2 at Boots as it ends on Tuesday (13th May 2014) so you’ll need to get cracking.  The shades in this post are seasonal releases for the summer, so they might not stay in the full collection, so keep that in mind as if you fall in love with a shade, you’ll need to stock up! The Seventeen Quicker Slicker polishes are £2.99 each and can be found here – link.
