Now for something a little different on the blog today, but as I have quite a few foodie and Health Hack posts in the pipeline, I figured something about some yummy treats would be welcome too! Coffee is my biggest weakness – now I now longer smoke or drink, coffee is my thing that I love to indulge in and if I’m really after a treat, I’ll go to Costa for a Caramel Latte and Triple Chocolate Muffin.
However, having been sent a voucher to try out the new Summer Menu at Costa, I had to move away from my usual (not completely, there’s still a Caramel Latte there) choices and try something a bit different. I visited my local Costa on one of the ridiculously balmy days of last week, so on top of my usual coffee order for mum and me, I also went for a slice of cake and an iced tea.
The cake I went for is the Morello Cherry and Vanilla cake which is absolutely gorgeous – I love cherries and I love vanilla, but in this cake, neither of the flavours overwhelmed each and instead worked together to create a beautifully Summery flavour that I hope will remain on the menu.
I also had the Peach Iced Tea which is a lovely, light and very refreshing drink that’s perfectly suited to the warmer days. There are quite a few cool or iced options, such as the various iced and/or flavoured coffees and the extension flavours of the Fruit Coolers. If you fancy something creamy, there’s also some great sounding extension flavours such as the Belgian Chocolate Creamy Cooler which is next on my to-try list. There’s some lovely, tasty new Summery flavours on the menu, so well worth trying if you’re visiting Costa in the next few months.
