Birchbox September 2015

I know I keep banging on about it, but I can’t quite get my head around the fact that it’s September – I had to double check before confirming that the Birchbox September 2015 had the right date; just a few short months until the dreaded C word is upon us…Anyway! The September 2015 Birchbox marks a very exciting 5 year anniversary for the Birchbox brand, so to mark the occasion, they’ve put together a stellar collection of products to form this month’s contents.

See? Quite the line-up! As Birchbox is an American company, all products are from the USA this month, so we’ve got some true greats from the likes of Benefit, Paula’s Choice and Bliss.  Normally I can quickly assess my favourites and my not-so-favourites, but this lot are all pretty fab.

I’ll actually start with the Birchbrush which appears to be a Birchbox branded Tangle Teezer.  The reason I’m starting with this is because I was supposed to pick one of these up from Brent Cross later this week (I’ve had about 10 of them, and they keep disappearing – I fear Teddy might have something to do with it and when we move we’ll reveal a hidden hill of Tangle Teezers) so the arrival of this couldn’t have timed better.  Next is the Benefit Porefessional Licence to Blot which is one of the brand’s newest launches, so it’s fab that we get one in the box.  It is a sample size at 1.4g, but you use so little each time that this should make for a great intro the product.  Finally, the Laqa & Co Cheeky Lip Pencil in Humble Brag is such a stunning colour that’ll work well as both a blush and a lippy, and I would imagine would suit most one way or another.

I was so impressed to see Paula’s Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant included in the box, as Paula’s Choice products are so well-respected – it proves that Birchbox really do try to ensure some of the very best brands are included in their boxes.  Again it’s a sample size, but a very decent one at 30ml.  The John Masters Organics Citrus Neroli Detangler is the point where I start getting less excited, as even though this sounds lovely, I can’t see myself putting it to use.  Finally we have the Bliss Foot Patrol – another product that’s tricky to get excited about, but as it’s an AHA based exfoliator and softener, this is probably a product I’ll end up giving a go as it sounds pretty fab.

There we have it! A very decent selection of mostly generously sized samples, all from great brands, making one of the best box edits I’ve seen for a while.  A very Happy Birthday to Birchbox! Head here to find out more – link.
