Mask Monday: Oskia Renaissance Mask

Oskia Renaissance MaskPIN IT

Oskia are one of those few brands who get it pretty much spot-on with every product they release.  I love the fact that they’ve been around a little while, yet their range is still relatively compact, and I like to think that so much time and consideration goes into perfecting each new launch rather than just putting out loads of products as quickly as possible.  Oskia have some cult products in their range, one of which is the Renaissance Mask.

I first tried the Oskia Renaissance Mask a few years ago from a sample pot, and at the time I remember thinking how amazing it was then.  Fast-forward a few years when I’d like to think my skincare knowledge is a little more developed, and I’m still equally impressed.  The Oskia Renaissance Mask is a multi-tasking, gently exfoliating, radiance-boosting all-round glow-giver that all skin types would benefit from.  It’s jam-packed with fruit acids so patch test if you’re sensitive.  As you can see, in the pot this is a thick, dense gel/balm that’s pink in colour, but when applied and worked into the skin it takes on a paler finish, and this is how you know you’ve applied it correctly. You leave it on for 15 minutes or so (or half an hour if you’re easily distracted…) and then remove it with a sponge or flannel.

The results are immediate, as skin looks clearer, fresher, smoother and has a glow to it without any tightness, although I would recommend following with a hydrating oil or cream if you’re prone to dryness.  This is the sort of mask that you need to crack open when you’ve been a bit neglectful of your skin, run-down or poorly, as it’s an extremely quick way to boost the overall clarity and texture of your skin; it’s also perfect for the night before a big event.  I would list this in the category that I call “power masks” since it performs so many functions with just one use.  If you’re not a fan of using facial masks but want to enjoy the benefits they offer, this is a quick and fuss-free way to give your skin some decent TLC with very little effort.  I also couldn’t possibly review the Oskia Renaissance Mask  without mentioning the lovely scent, which is like a fruity, floral fragrance that smells natural and in-keeping with the product – I believe it’s a result of the ingredients which makes it even more lovely.  It’s £48.50 and available from the main Oskia site here – link – and Cult Beauty here – link.

This is on my wish list! I think I’ve mentioned on here before that I got a free deluxe sample of the Restoration oil ages ago and it’s lovely!

I’m on my second pot. I sometimes use it instead of my morning cleanser and just leave it on for a couple of minutes or so for a quick boost. I read this tip by Caroline Hirons and it works.
