Quick Pick Tuesday: Erborian Eau Ginseng

Erborian Eau Ginseng ReviewPIN IT

The Erborian Eau Ginseng (or Eau Ginseng Concentrated Lotion Instant Moisture, to give it it’s full name) is a kind of toner/essence style product that promises to immediately hydrate and provide comfort, which is a very good way of describing what it does, as it’s the perfect antidote to tired, stressed skin that needs a bit of comforting hydration.  I use it in a typical toner style – applying to a cotton pad and working it across my face – but you could just as easily apply it in the way you would an essence; by tipping a few drops into your hand and pressing it into your face, and I think that approach would be the better of the two if your skin is horrendously tight and uncomfortable.

The Erborian Eau Ginseng is great for post-treatment skin settling, so if you’ve used a deeply cleansing or exfoliating mask, or an acid toner, following with a hit of this will make skin feel a lot more comfortable.  It does have a strong fragrance, but as the lead ingredients are ginger and ginseng, it’s inevitable that the scent will be pretty strong, but as always, if you’re very sensitive to strong fragrance or have reacted to similar products in the past, definitely do a patch test first.  Having said that, I would say this is a great product for sensitive and reactive skin as it’s very gentle and soothing, making it a lovely addition to any routine – I like to follow with an oil after an at-home facial to leave skin feeling and looking nicely hydrated.  At £32 this is quite expensive, especially if you decide to use it in the style of a toner, but if you use it as it’s intended – a few drops pressed into skin – then it should definitely last you quite a while.  The Erborian Eau Ginseng is here.
