I’m sure you’re thinking the exact same thing as I thought when I first heard that Katie Price was launching a beauty range – it’s called Katie Price Beauty, obvs – but hold your judgement as it’s actually a pretty solid collection of reasonably priced and surprisingly appealing products; it’s a collaboration with the people behind Makeup Revolution, so it was never going to be rubbish.
Alongside make-up there’s also skincare and body care, but I think the favourites are likely to be found in the make-up range, which has a heavy brow and eye focus; the brow products are especially plentiful with a lovely looking brow palette and a selection of Brow Enhancers in various colours, which I feel are designed to be a more affordable take on Wunderbrow; promising a long-lasting brow colour, I have the blonde shade which I’ll give a whirl soon.
Eyeshadow palettes are really well covered, with a Clarins/Urban Decay-esque style available in Nude and Smokey, plus there’s the pictured Travel Palette which contains a bit of everything, with 32 eyeshadows – some of which work as brow powders – as well as a highlighter and two bronzers, one of which is matte. It’s a really good selection of shades covering brights and nudes, and the palette itself is very handy for travel, with a binder-style elastic fastening.
Other palettes including contouring and concealing products and there’s also a selection of individual highlighters (Light looks especially pretty – I do like an icy highlight) available, plus a couple of products aimed at men too, including a conceal and contour palette. I’m keeping the skincare at arms length since I struggle with skincare at the best of times, but the make-up is definitely appealing with the majority of the packaging being pretty attractive (the baked bronzer is a bit plasticky and tacky) so all-in-all, the Katie Price Beauty range is quite a surprise! The price point is mid range, with the body products starting at £5 and the highlighters at £6, going right up to £20 for the travel palette and £30(!!) for the face cream.
