Glossybox December 2016

The Glossybox December 2016 is a bold move, as it’s all built around the one product (a lipstick) so it’s all make-up, all of which is designed to give you an almost full look-in-a-box; I love the concept (although it needs a bit of work since there’s no eye products) and I would love to see more of these types of Glossyboxes!

The December 2016 Glossybox contains five products, all of which are full-sized and all of which work in harmony together.  As mentioned, the box is designed around the lipstick which is a very exciting inclusion as it’s an MDM Flow lipstick, a brand who I’ve heard lots of good things about (I’ve also just checked their website and they now have the most beautiful collection of liquid lipsticks – those pinks! – look at them here – link) so I’m keen to get stuck-in and see what all the fuss is about. Here’s a closer look at the Glossybox December 2016 contents:

Of course I’m going to lead with the MDM Flow Lipstick which comes in the shade Vamp, an aptly named vampy plum shade that supposedly suits all skin tones; I’m looking forward to putting it to the test as it’s a great colour.  The Essence Light Up Your Face Lumizer Palette looks promising – my experience of Essence is pretty limited, but I’ve heard only good things. The Collection Cosmetics Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder threw me off at first, as I opened it up without looking at what it was and started swatching before thinking how dry it was for an eyeliner…then once I realised it was for the brows I was actually pretty happy to have it, as I do love me a good brow product.

The Revlon Nail Enamel in Valentine has obviously been chosen to coordinate with the lipstick.  Lipcote is a product I have a weird relationship with as I remember it from my teen years and it was terribly unpleasant to use, but I understand it’s come a long way since then, so I will give it the benefit of the doubt and give it another whirl.  I really like the whole concept of the box and I hope they do something similar again soon – maybe a whole eye look or a themed skincare box – as I enjoy this sort of thing and I think a lot of other people do too; it’ll be really interesting to see what everyone else thinks this month! I know that there are nude shades of lipsticks in some boxes too, so it’ll be especially interesting to see whether the products have been adjusted accordingly.  Check out Glossybox here for sub info – link.
