bareMinerals Gen Nude Lip Collection

At the start of the month I wrote about some of the exciting new launches that were arriving, including the bareMinerals Gen Nude collection, which is a very exciting line of lip products that cover all approaches to the nude lip in a variety of formats and finishes.  The collection contains an impressive 40 shades in four different finishes, and I was sent some of the pinker-leaning colours to have a play with.

Let’s first look at the liquid lipsticks which come in the form of Buttercream Lipglosses or Matte Liquid Lipcolours.  Everyone has been going a bit crazy for the Matte lippies but I have to be honest and say that they didn’t really do it for me, although that’s probably because I’m not a huge fan of matte liquid lipsticks at the moment anyway – for some reason they just don’t suit my lips! I think this is also not helped by the fact that I have very pigmented lips and I was sent quite pale shades, which don’t tend to sit right on my lips.  I’m in the minority with this view, but I thought I’d share, nonetheless. The Buttercream Lipglosses are much more up my street, providing a lovely, glossy hit of colour in a great selection of shades.

The Radiant Lipsticks are my favourite of the new launches as they’re the type of lipsticks I really like; hydrating and just the right side of creamy, whilst still maintaining a good dose of pigment in a big selection of shades going from the very pale, peachy lips to deep and moody nudes – they’re all covered.  There are also five shades of lip liner which I think is great as it would’ve been quite easy to copout and just have one shade called “nude” as so many brands do.

The shades I have, going from the top, are: Buttercream Lipgloss in Cosmic, Matte Liquid Lipcolours in Kissyface and Smooch, Radiant Lipsticks in Crush and Heaven and finally the Under Over Lipliner in Borderline.  The whole collection is available now and if you’re on the hunt for your perfect nude, I really do recommend checking this collection out as they’ve covered almost every kind of nude nuance, so you’re bound to find something you like.  The Buttercream Lipglosses and Matte Liquid Lipcolours are £17 each, the Radiant Lipsticks are £18 each and the Under Over Lipliners are £14 each, all of which can be found here – link.
