An Introduction to Mythyn #MyLuxeBathTime: Melusine Silk Bath Soak and Mikan Natural Candle
Since moving home, I’ve become pretty excited by all the joyful bath products that exist purely to indulge, comfort and sooth both the body and mind, with a great example of such products being Mythyn, a handmade, 100% natural and completely cruelty-free range of bath and body products. I was sent the Melusine Silk Bath Soak and Mikan Natural Candle to try.
The first thing that struck me about the Mythyn range is the attention to detail; for a collection with a mid-range price point, you get products that appear a lot more luxurious. For example, I love the fact that the Melusine Silk Bath Soak comes with a beautiful wooden scoop to decant the product into the bath. It sounds like a small point to focus on, but it really does add a decadence to the experience. The fragrance of the Melusine Silk Bath Soak is a relaxing blend of lavender, mandarin and bergamot that come together to form a scent that’s soothing and relaxing without being too overpowering. The soak also contains Epsom Salts alongside Celtic French Salts which help detox and hydrate the skin, so it’s a lot more than your average bath soak.
The Mikan Natural Candle works really well alongside the Melusine Silk Bath Soak, thanks to the similar fragrance notes of mandarin, bergamot and patchouli. Another example of the attention to detail is the fact that the candle comes with a candle cap that’ll help you keep your candle clean – this is especially relevant considering the candle is 100% natural, so it won’t have anything synthetic in it designed to repel dust. The candle fragrance has an impressive throw that lingers really well, which suggests a well-designed product that can happily rival luxury counterparts. Both products have provided me with a great introduction to the Mythyn range, although if you can only afford one or the other, I’d recommend the Melusine Silk Bath Soak, purely because it’s such an attractive and enjoyable product to use that provides a multitude of benefits. The soak is £18 here – link – and the candle is £26 here – link.
