More skincare love today! The Alpha H Hyaluronic 8 has slotted perfectly into my routine and is a product I’ve been using daily ever since it arrived. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’m quite strict with my skincare routine now, with some hardcore actives being used (vitamin C in the morning and retinol or acid at night) and I felt my skin would benefit from an additional hydrating serum as it was starting to look a little dry in places and a tad sensitive. The Alpha H Hyaluronic 8 has come to the rescue and fixed a multitude of skincare issues!
The Alpha H Hyaluronic 8 is an everyday serum with a medium consistency, with 8 key ingredients (presumably hence the name) that provides a good shot of grease-free hydration. I use this AM and PM; in the morning it goes on after my Obagi Vitamin C serum – which is thinner and lighter in consistency, so needs to go on first – then in the evening this goes on after cleansing but before retinol. I find this works fantastically as a buffer for retinol, so if you’re just starting out with a retinol product and finding it a tad too active, this will soften the blow without taking anything away from the overall impact of a good retinol treatment. Most importantly, this doesn’t break me out at all – I have found quite a few HA serums that do, but this one just plumps, softens and hydrates without any stickiness, residue or clogging, it plays beautifully with other skincare (no rolling or piling at all) and it really does make a big difference to my routine. It’s £38 for 25ml – I’ve had this around a month and have used it at least daily, most days twice a day, and I’d say I’m around half way through after using 3-4 drops each time.
