Brand Focus: Bobbi Brown

As mentioned a while ago, I'd like to start a regular feature focussing on brands and what they're about. I'll start with those I am most familiar with but I intend to branch out and experience other brands, mainly to open my mind a little more (I'm guilty of the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' approach to certain elements of beauty) but also because I think/hope it'll make a good introduction to the various brands available on the UK market. Int[...]

My Night Time Skincare Routine

This is me asleep.  No, really, it is.   I've always had a slightly weird fascination with the way other beauty obsessives approach their maintenance routine as I think we all find our own way of doing things and it's interesting to know if anyone does anything differently. So assuming (and hoping) that's it's not just me being plain nosey, I thought I'd do a few blogs on the approaches I take to my beauty-related maintenance, starting with my ni[...]

Philips ReAura: What’s In The Box

As mentioned earlier, I was very excited at the arrival of my ReAura today. I'm going to spend the next couple of days watching the how-to DVD, reading the impressively comprehensive instruction manual and getting to grips with my new favourite thing before lasering the bejesus out of my skin. So it's safe to say expect plenty of updates, progress reports, thoughts on the experience of using it and anything else I learn along my ReAura journey. I[...]

Philips ReAura: It’s Arrived!!

It's arrived!! As you can see, my ReAura has finally arrived and I can't wait to use it! I posted a blog about the launch here and I'm now going to get to experience the machine myself so expect some horrific pictures of my current skin shortly, followed by regular progress updates. Later tonight I'll post more info about what's inside the box (which includes 2 products and a gorgeous carry case - pics to follow) but for now I'm just so excited ab[...]

e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush

I'm so pleased I went ahead and purchased this brush as it's proved a really excellent investment.  It's incredibly soft, doesn't shed and is really great for buffing product into the cheeks.  Up until I received this, I've been using the Bobbi Brown Blusher Brush which is really great for adding a pop of colour to the cheeks, but it picks up a lot of product which is great if you're using something sheer that you want to build-up, but not so great[...]

e.l.f. Cream Eyeshadow Palette

I go through phases where I prefer powders over creams and vice versa. Sometimes I'll prefer the dewy glow of a great cream blush, other times I'll like to neat flush of a powder. I'm the same with eyeshadows and I'm currently going through a cream eyeshadow loving phase. I decided to try out the e.l.f. Cream Eyeshadow Palette as it appeared to have a nice selection of colours and I haven't tried any e.l.f. cream eyeshadows before. The packag[...]

Tightlining the Eyes – A Brief Introduction

I mentioned on Twitter how I'm really pleased to have come across an eyelining technique called tightlining and a few people got in touch to find out more. It's a tricky technique to explain with words, but I'm going to try! Next week I'll do a pictorial but in the meantime, I'll elaborate on what tightlining is so that hopefully you can give it a go. There seems to be a bit of confusion in regards to the difference between tightlining and lining t[...]

e.l.f. After Dark Promotion EXTENDED

As mentioned in my previous blog here, e.l.f ran a promotion that gave you 40% off a £20 spend. I've just been alerted to the fact that they've decided to extend the promotion to cover this coming weekend, so the offer will expire on 16/10/11 at 23.59. The code for the extension is EXTRAELF. If you fancy seeing what I bought (amongst other purchases this week) then check it out here. Happy shopping![...]

Things I’ve Bought This Week (October 2011 Week 2)

As you can see, I'm now faced with a HUGE amount of products to try and review, which is very exciting! Today I received my first Carmine box, my e.l.f. order and I also bought 3 things on my weekly trip to Boots. Is it weird that it feels wrong visiting Boots and not leaving with at least something? Obviously it's safe to assume that the majority of these products will be reviewed soon, but if I miss anything that you'd like a review for then plea[...]

Macadamia Healing Oil Treatment

I received a sample of this in my September Boudoir Prive Box, review of which can be found here. I say 'sample' but the 10ml bottle was full to the brim (literally, there was no room left at all in the bottle) and as this stuff is best used sparingly, it's safe to say this sample will last me a while. I've been a fan of Moroccanoil for quite a while, however, considering how expensive it is I've been continually on the lookout for a cheaper altern[...]

e.l.f. After Dark Promotion 11.10.11 – 14.10.11

The lovely and oh-so generous people at e.l.f. are running another promotion, which will consist of 40% off a minimum spend of £20 (so minimum you'll spend is £12 +p&p). Here are the things I'll be stocking up on: Studio Makeup Mist and Set   This is kind of like hairspray for your face as it holds your make-up in place. I'll be trying it because whilst I'm pretty happy with my foundation choices at the moment, I'm still p[...]
