Allergy Diaries: Foobot Air Quality Monitor

Ever since moving home, my son Teddy and I have developed some pretty considerable issues with allergies, yet we really struggle to work out what's causing the problem.  Teddy had some allergy testing and it all came back clear, yet he's on two doses of antihistamines and one dose of steroids a day, which barely keep his symptoms at bay.  I struggle a lot less than Teddy, but I still get typical allergy issues that'll randomly strike every now a[...]

Teddy Update: 1 Year Old

I can't believe I haven't written the 1 year update yet! Teddy turned 1 in NOVEMBER so it's very overdue if you consider he'll be 15 months old at the end of next week.  If you follow me on Instagram you'll see relatively regular updates of Teddy with videos of him laughing such as this one, or pictures of him looking beautiful like this one.   Developmentally he's doing brilliantly.  In the last update I might've mentioned that he w[...]

Weleda Baby Derma White Mallow Range

Stars of kind and gentle skincare, Weleda, have created a gorgeous new range of products for sensitive baby skin, the Baby Derma White Mallow range.  Obviously it's a range that can be used by anyone with sensitive skin, but it's been specifically designed to deal with common issues associated with young skin such as eczema and dermatitis.  My son Teddy has very sensitive, reactive skin that I have to tread very carefully with, so I figured the[...]

Teddy: Pink Lining Mama et Bebe Changing Bag

There's a new tag in town! From now on, "Teddy:" means the post is in relation to my beautiful boy, so keep your eyes peeled for Teddy posts if you're a new or expecting mum as I'll be sharing my favourite things soon! I realised last night that I resent spending more than £20 on a pair of jeans (I'm in between sizes...still losing baby weight...oh just shhh) at the moment because I feel like it's a waste of money; ever the optimist, I'm hoping[...]

Love Boo Baby Skincare

I was very lucky during my pregnancy as I was sent quite a bit of product focused around pregnancy and newborn baby care.  However, to be completely frank I found it all a bit dull as there's only so excited you can get about variants of baby wash.  Don't get me wrong, I want to use products on Teddy that are kind to his skin and won't cause any issues, but really, there's nothing there to get the blood rushing and the heart pumping; send  me a[...]

Instagram Weekly Special: Teddy So Far

As promised, here's a look at my Instagram uploads of Teddy from birth until now.  I'm hoping to start my Instagram Weeklies back up again soon, so I'll be doing a 2014 so far post soon as well.  I realise again that this might not be of interest to everyone, but I'm having a day of Teddy-based indulgence :)   Top Row The first ever picture of Teddy that went online.  He was a couple of hours old in this! Teddy has shown an aptitude[...]

Off-Topic: Teddy at 16 Weeks

Today my little fella' reached 16 weeks old, which some would perceive as 4 months old, however, some also count age by the month - so as he was born on the 7th November he won't be 4 months old until the 7th March - but whatever! He's now 16 weeks old and he's such a gorgeous little boy, I am extremely proud.  As this is a bit of a milestone for him and I, I've decided to really indulge today and have the next 2 posts devoted to all things baby,[...]

Off-Topic: Teddy Update at Six Weeks Old

Today my gorgeous little Teddy has been with us for six weeks.  Can you believe it's been six weeks already? And he's doing amazing things such as holding his head up fully, making efforts to communicate (although we're a long way off proper words just yet; he did say "aaahhh" which I'm confident was his attempt at "antidisestablishmentarianism", so that's ace...) and he's also mimicking movements such as hand waves and poking out tongues.  I ha[...]

Off-Topic: Bed, Birth and Beyond…

As promised, I'm writing up my experience of my birth with my Little Man Teddy.  It was all arranged for me to have a C-Section under general anaesthetic on the morning of the 7th November 2013.  General anaesthetic (GA) is not the most advisable way to have a baby, as obviously there's a chance the baby will absorb some of the GA, plus being put to sleep makes it riskier for both mother and baby (albeit very minimally), but the main reasons it was[...]

Thank You and Hello!

I'm back! Ish.  I'll be gently easing myself back into blogging over the next few days, including sharing some off-topic posts about my new Little Man who we've named Edward.  Unfortunately I had a pretty terrible time with the birth, but the arrival of Edward and the ridiculous love I feel for him has well and truly made up for the trauma.  I seriously cannot get enough of him.   The reason for this quick post is just to say hello, show off a[...]

Off-Topic: Little Man Update at 38/39 Weeks

If you follow me on Twitter then you'll already know that today is my due date, and by that I mean that I'm booked for my c-section at the rather inhumane hour of 7am, so chances are that by the time this publishes my son may already be with us! Either that or I'll be one extremely miffed and hungry blogger anxiously awaiting surgery.  I'll be having LM under anaesthetic as this has been deemed the most sensible approach.  My disability is now under[...]
