Benefit seem to be launching one amazing collection after another recently and that doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. The next ones to arrive are the FakeUp concealers which will be available instore at the end of this month, however I do believe you can purchase them online now.
FakeUp is a “hydrating, crease-control concealer” which addresses the main issue a lot of us have with under-eye concealers, which is their tendency to settle into fine lines and look cakey. FakeUp is a tube of concealer coated in a tube of conditioning and hydrating ingredients such as vitamin E and apple seed extract which act as gentle moisturisers to keep the under-eye area smooth and crease-free.
FakeUp is available in 3 shades: Light, Medium and Deep. I think the shades cover a fairly decent spectrum – certainly deep is very dark – but I don’t know if all three shades will comfortably cater for all skintones. The packaging is awesome; a chunky, silver lipstick-style container that looks expensive and yet applies the concealer well too.
I got on extremely well with FakeUp; far better than I thought I would! As is usually the case with such things, my match was Light and it blended really well with my skin. The moisturising properties meant the finish was slightly sheeny (although definitely not greasy) which left a flattering finish that looked dewy and plump; ideal for the under-eye area which can easily look worse when dry or caked in make-up. I wouldn’t say this is a heavy-duty concealer, so if you have very dark circles you might need a corrector underneath, but for most people I’d say this is a great investment piece that lives up to its promises. FakeUp is £18.50 and available online now.
