I finally bit the bullet and treated myself to some new bits from @lisaeldridgemakeup after waiting forever for the palest foundation card to come in stock (it still hasn't - when will it?! I'm desperate to find my shade match!) before giving up and having a splurge, so here's what I got: Luxurious Lucent Lip Colour in Rose Official - my lighting has made this look a lot deeper than it is, it's definitely more of a muted rose 💐 Gloss Embrace Lip Gloss in Charm - I'm not normally one for lip gloss but I needed that pink in my life 💐 Elevated Glow Highlighter in Pink Moon - there are little white lumps in this which I think might be skincare; I battled with them at first but now I've got the hang of it I think this might be my favourite highlighter to date! 💐 Okay people, enable me! Hello! 👋 I decided today was the day that I would start posting again. I lost my dad on the 9th June and I have been embracing the grief of losing someone so important to me by trying to be as kind to myself as possible. I love Instagram and I've missed it, so I wanted to start posting again, even though I wrestled with whether it might be too soon, but then when will I ever feel ready? I'm never going to be the same person now my dad is no longer with me, so I welcome the distraction of the fickle fun that is the 'gram. I've done a few things that have given me a few moments of calm, so I thought I'd share: Firstly, huge thanks to @this_is_fifty who recommended I read the book Grief Works by @juliasamuelmbe which has been incredibly helpful with making me feel a lot less isolated and alone in my grieving 🙌🏻 I got a pedicure and chose a ridiculously bright and sunny colour - I was really surprised by how effective this was at boosting my mood! ☀️ Finally, I went to see the amazing and talented @johanneheraldhair at @piperviolethair who gave me a big ol' chop, a colour refresh and lots of gossip and giggles 🥰 Thanks to everyone who's been in touch with all of your messages of support, they really have meant so much and I'm (very slowly) starting to feel like myself again 🖤
