I got my nails done today which is not normally something I do. Mainly because I play guitar a lot so it’s a bit of a waste of money as the guitar strings chip away at both the nail and the varnish, but also because, for all intents and purposes, I really can’t be bothered….
When I was younger, I used to change my nail colour almost every day to match whatever outfit I had planned for the following day. It was my way of rebelling against the formality of the work wear I had to keep to; nothing major, just smart trousers and a jumper, but I still didn’t like it. So if I was wearing a pink top, my nails would be pink and if I was wearing a blue jumper, my nails would be blue etc.
Then I went through a phase where I was all about the French manicure and I still love that now, but I think you need nails of a certain length to do it justice.
Today, I wanted to go for a bright colour to cheer up my weather and guitar battered hands so I chose this light, cherry red; it looks a bit pinker in the picture than it is. What do you think?
i know…that the one thing that sucks about playing the guitar…but i love it!

Oh me too, there’s no way I’d give it up! I’m toying with getting them gelled (rather loving the look of nice nails at the mo…) but it’ll still probably be a waste as I play daily 🙂 xx
I also know that feeling that’s why I only have my left nails manicured. Thanks.
It’s such a tricky one as I really love my guitar but I really love pretty nails too 🙁 xx
