We’ve known Christmas was coming for quite some time; it’s all very well saying that it crept up on us, but considering it’s on the same day every year and places like John Lewis and Fenwicks have gone out of their way to warn us of it’s presence by kindly releasing their decorations in July (probably) thus making sure that by the time the sun starts disappearing we’re already fed-up with the idea of it, we really have no excuse for not doing some forward planning. However, if you’re like me and a bit rubbish at forward planning, or any kind of planning for that matter, here are some ‘if in doubt, throw money at it’ suggestions for last minute Christmas buys. Be quick though as this time next week it’ll pretty much all be over…..
For the party animal:
Bliss Glow Ho Ho Gift Set
I bought this for myself, actually, but I would’ve been just as happy, if not more so, if someone had bought this for me. It isn’t cheap at £60, but it contains a full sized Triple Oxygen Instant Energising Mask and Triple Oxygen +C Energising Cream as well as one pair of the Triple Oxygen Instant Energising Eye Mask. Individually, this lot would cost £121.70 so it’s quite a saving. I will be reviewing these products in full soon, but in the meantime it’s safe to say I’m really impressed with the mask and the cream – I’m yet to try the eye mask. The mask really does instantaneously put a glow back into lacklustre skin, making this the perfect kit for anyone who’s prone to burning the candle at both ends.
For the Lip Lover:
Duwop Venom Carousel
Duwop Venom is probably one of the most famous lip plumpers available and this kit contains six different shades, including bot Venom original and the newest addition to the range, Blue Venom. The rest of the shades are mostly sparkly, Christmassy shades that any Venom fan would love. It comes in an easy to wrap tube and costs £44.
For the Hair Obsessive:
Kerastase Elixir Ultime
I haven’t actually used this myself but I’ve heard soooo many good things about it and I’m yet to read a bad review. If you need to buy a gift for someone who is all about the hair then this is perfect; it’s a deeply conditioning and nourishing treatment that works hard at repairing winter beaten or over-styled hair and would make an ideal luxury gift for Christmas. This normally retails for £33.50 but HQHair have a discount going on at the moment, making it £28.50.
For All About the Make-up Girls:
Bobbi Brown Ultimate Party Collection
This dinky little make-up kit contains 8 eyeshadows, 4 glitter lipglosses, a mini lip brush and an mini eye brush, all housed in a travel friendly case. This is such a lovely collection of colours that are perfect for the party season, and obviously Bobbi Brown screams luxury make-up, so if you’re buying for a girl who values quality in her make-up then this is a safe bet. It costs £59.
For the Boy:
Clinique Limited Edition Expert Shave
I bought this for my dad’s birthday which was a couple of weeks ago and he wasn’t that impressed with it. However, he’s a tattooed, South London skinhead (hairstyle choice only, just in case that gives the wrong impression…) so maybe he’s not the target audience for a fabulous kit like this; I figured to remain a skinhead, he’d need to shave, but apparently such luxury products aren’t necessary for such things. Who knew? Anyway, if the man in your life is more inclined towards a bit of male grooming (if that’s the case, I’m very jealous; mine’s idea of grooming is showering more than every other day) then this is a fantastic kit containing all the essentials for an indulgent shave, apart from the razor itself. It costs £35.
Hopefully this gift guide might give you some ideas so you can stop panicking and start enjoying the run-up to Christmas!
Oh my gosh I NEED that Duwop venom carousel!!!
