After I ranted and raved about how amazing the Bourjois Volume Glamour Max mascara (review here and update here) it was inevitable that I’d venture out and try more products from the brand. My next Bourjois experience came with their Healthy Mix Serum Foundation. This is a foundation that contains skin loving ingredients which are beneficial for your skin over time, but the ingredients (such as lichee and goji berries) also have an immediate cosmetic effect that boosts skin radiance and stops skin looking tired and dull.
The shade I have is 51 which is perfect for me and there are 6 shades in the range, although the finish is very blendable so I would guess that an exact match isn’t essential. Having tried quite a few foundations finishes lately, I’d say this one is more coverage than a tinted moisturiser, but less than a foundation making it a perfect seasonally transitional product. You can take this from a completely sheer coverage to a light/medium coverage, which isn’t enough coverage for me so I needed to use a bit of concealer on my facial scars. What I like about this foundation is that it does what it says on the tin; it is radiance boosting without being too greasy or dewy, so it’s perfect for oily skin types who want a bit of glow without the shine. I’m not sure how well this would fare on dry skins, but Bourjois have a similar product called Healthy Mix Foundation (info here) which I think would be a better bet for dry skin types.

For my oily skin, I didn’t need a moisturiser before using this as it worked really well as a base that gave a good glow, so all I needed to do was apply a bit of concealer on my scars and I could get away without using powder. The cover lasted well and I didn’t show shine as quickly as I normally do, which I’m really pleased about. I haven’t used this for long enough to know whether it has an impact on my skin long-term, but I really like the idea of a foundation that doubles as a skincare product.
So it’s safe to say I’m still a big fan of Bourjois and considering their products are so reasonably priced, I’ll definitely be checking out more of the range.
Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum Foundation is £10.99 and more info can be found here.

Even though I’m a Rimmel fan in the foundation category, I’ve heard so many good things about this one, and I love the cuteness of Bourjois products, that I’ll give this a try soon! Thanks for the excellent review!

I’ve heard great things about this product but I don’t think it comes in a shade pale enough for me so never tried it! They need to produce more affordable, pale foundations. X
@Ria you have really good skin though so you could get away with anything! I’ve never got on too well with Rimmel foundations, love their Kohl and varnishes though xx
@NTBFB it’s definitely worth checking out as their shades are quite easy to work with; I’m really pale too but not the palest in their range! Maybe swatch their palest next time you’re near a Bourjois counter? xx
