I first wrote about Betrousse Beauty Kits last month, when I wrote about their Organic and Natural Beauty themed box. This month, the them is “Must Haves” and the box currently costs £19, although it has a rather astonishing value of £131. Betrousse are beauty boxes with a slightly different take, as all products are full-sized, there’s no subscription and you know what you’re getting before you purchase the kit.
The Must Haves box contained a good range of products and here’s what was included, in order of my personal favourites:
LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum
I have absolutely no idea whether this works on cellulite or not as I haven’t been using it long enough, but what I can say is that it’s a really lovely, light yet deeply moisturising skin cream. I’ve been using it on my legs (especially my dry knees) and it’s made a big difference to the level of dryness. It does leave skin with a slightly tacky feel, so it’s not the best product to apply before going out, but it’s perfect for before bed. This retails at £41.
Pure Papaya Ointment
This is one of those basics that’ll inevitably get repurchased. It’s the sort of thing that you can’t really get excited about, but it has a job and it does that job well. It’s an all-in-one ointment that can be used for so many different things, although I use it as a lipbalm, a cuticle treatment and a spot-treatment for dry bits on my hands. It’s got a thick, balm-like consistency (think 8 Hour Cream) that soaks in after a few minutes, leaving skin feeling really nourished. This retails at £9.99.
Ostraly Moisturising Tea Tree Oil Cream
In this month’s box, you either got Tea Tree or Lanoline. I was kind of hoping for the Lanoline as I’m not a fan of the smell of Tea Tree (I don’t mind it on my face as a necessity, but not as something I want my whole body to smell of!) but in fairness, the scent in this isn’t too overwhelming and as a general body cream, this moisturises effectively whilst soaking in super fast. I think this’ll also be a godsend when I go on holiday as an after-sun. Retails at £18.80.
Bacti Control Instant Antibacterial Sanitiser
Not the sexiest of products, but definitely in keeping with the functional, must-haves theme! There’s not a lot to say about this other than the fact that it contains Aloe Vera and Pro Vitamin B5 which I like as it stops your hands feeling too dry from overuse (I’m a bit obsessive with hand sanitiser application) and it soaks in quickly without leaving any trace. The two downsides are that, firstly, it has quite a strong, chemical smell that might not be to everyone’s taste, but secondly, and most importantly, the packaging leaks which is not what you want from something you’re supposed to carry around. Priced super cheaply at £1.30.
OceAnge Night Cream
The only reason this falls into the bottom of my list is because I haven’t had a chance to give it a full test as I’m currently using a skincare routine that really appears to be really working for my skin (more info soon!) and I don’t want to do anything to change that. What I can say is that this does seem to be a product that has received mostly positive reviews, and the packaging is pretty lovely too. This costs £60.
So as you can, all products in the must-haves box have kept their theme and provided everyday functions. I really like the idea of Betrousse as I do think they’re kind of like a reaction to what people are always complaining about regarding beauty boxes (the samples are too small, the contents are often disappointing, etc) and I also find the French to English translations of all the product information on the site rather endearing. Betrousse are now also on Facebook, so head on over to say hello!
LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum interests me the most right now because I have just started a health kick regime and I think this would make a lovely contribution to my general over haul !
Oceanage Night Cream appeals to me as it sounds nice. I love testing out products and am intrigued by this one 🙂
The papaya ointment sounds great. Often have dry skin patches as well as gardeners hand and grazes.
I’d love to try out the general body cream in Lanolin! x
Definitely Bacti Control Instant Antibacterial Sanitiser .. Constantly in contact with public and work and dealing with sticky situations so don’t want to get ill! And need to keep hands clean! So a definite must have!
Definitely Bacti Control Instant Antibacterial Sanitiser , as constantly getting hands sticky when cleaning up at work! All that coke! So constantly needing this and would be no where without it!
Anti-Age night cream. To get rid of the wrinkles!
The Bacti Control Instant Antibacterial Sanitiser because I love to keep my hands germ free.
Anti-Age night cream. To get rid of the wrinkles !
I’ve been looking for a good night cream so I think it’s something I’m definitely interested in. My face is always so dry when I wake up in the morning so here’s hoping this would do the job. x
I’d love to try the night cream. I need a new night cream and now I’m hitting the late twenties an anti-wrinkle cream is something I need to be considering. Plus my skin is so dry when I wake up in the morning so here’s hoping this would do the job.
Anti-Age night cream to help keep the wrinkles at bay

I would like to try the LPG serum so see if it would work, it sounds good
I’ve just followed on GFC. ButtonF1Fan
I think the OceanAge night cream sounds best.. I’m the lazy type, so anything that works at night rocks 🙂
It would have to be the Oceanage Night Cream. The best time to apply cream is at night when you skin is rejuvenating plus it helps stop the creases in the skin from laying on a pillow. I notice a difference when i dont put night cream on.
I’d be keen to try the LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum! I suppose with any of these lotions and potions there are two sides to it…whether they’re nice when you apply them and whether there is any long term benefit….I’d love to give this a try just in case there is any improvement over time. Despite a healthy diet and exercise the cellulite is still going strong!
It would be the LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum!! I have awfully dry legs especially my knees
LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum please
I would love to try the Pure Papaya Ointment. I love ‘one for all’ products. They fit take up less room in my make up bag and save a lot of time too
LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum – It is much needed at the moment!
@jen1984j
Anti-Age night cream, I was 34 this week, and it is starting to show!
It has to be the LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum, as….. well I won’t go into too much detail!
Ooh anti age nigth cream for me for sure!
I like the sound of the Oceange Night Cream. I’m starting to notice a few fine lines appear so would like to find an anti-aging cream that really works. People always used to say I looked much younger than my age but I’ve noticed the last year or so that no-one is saying that anymore! 🙁
The Tea Tree oil ointment looks good to me, so good for you skin and a really diverse product to use.
The Tea Tree Oil ointment sounds great, its something which is so beneficial for the skin and has so many purposes, a bit of a miracle cream.
LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum – What woman doesnt need this!
I follow your blog via GFC as kasza
Quite a few of the points you mentioned about Pure Papaya Ointment appealed to me. I usually use vaseline on my lips rather than lip gloss so it would be nice tp have a change. I occasionally suffer from dermititus, usually when I’m a bit stressed, but I have noticed that I have one dry patch on the other hand now, so that needs treating and nipping in the bud. Finally, I have to raid my daughters bedroom for the cuticle oil when I’m doing my nails and as a rule I can’t find it, it would be lovely to have my own secret cuticle lotion… but don’t tell Hannah!
I would love to try the pure papaya ointment as I am desperate to find something to tame my cuticles! 🙂
would have to be the night cream, i don’t use one & would love to see if it would make a difference 🙂

Anti-Age night cream. 43 in a few weeks and need to start doing something to prevent the wrinkles now!
I would love to try the Pure Papaya Ointment as it is probably perfect for me dry patches
I’d like to try the night cream. I’m currently 4 months pregnant and haven’t slept properly for the last few weeks with various niggles. I can’t cope without my sleep (God help me when the baby arrives lol) but on a serious note the first thing to suffer when I’m tired is always my skin. I’d love to try this out and see if it makes me look years younger! 🙂
Probably the most boring of all the products, but I like the Bacti Control Instant Antibacterial Sanitiser, I had a baby 3 weeks ago and gently insist anyone who wants to hold him uses hand sanitiser first.

Would like to try the Oceange Night Cream, I like the fact the night cream restructures and strengthens the skin in depth, whilst maintaining hydration, so am sure it would work wonders on my fine lines and dry skin.
I think for me, the must-try product would have to be the Aqueous Detox Cellulite Serum, it would be great if this could improve my celllulite and stop me looking like something that’s been left out of the fridge all night!
Oceanage Night Cream looks very appealing. For me, the most important thing about a day cream is SPF and I will sometimes compromise on other benefits to ensure this is included. This means I tend to expect my night cream to do everything else so I’m always keen to find new ones with positive reviews, especially for anti-aging.
The Anti-Age night cream as I need some help combating my wrinkles.
I’d love to try the Pure Papaya Ointment. My hands are often quite dry and as it’s a multi purpose item it’s something I’d definitely carry around with me.
I would like to give a chance to LPG Aqueous Cellulite Detox Serum to beat my cellulite.
The Cellulite Detox serum sounds interesting. I suffer from bad cellulite and would love to try it see if it works.
I like the sound of the Cellulite detox serum the most, it’s a problem area for me and am always on the lookout for something to help!
I like the sound of the Night Cream. I followed you on GFC.
OceAnge Night Cream sounds interesting, I would love to see if it warrants the price tag! GFC: angieh
i like the sound of the pure papaya ointment, because it’s so versatile.
just an FYI,if there’s a lot of tea tree in the tea tree cream (doesn’t sound like it because it doesn’t smell too strong) it can make your skin photo sensitive, meaning your skin will burn easily in the sun for 24 hours or so (i believe) after it’s applied. goes for pure tea tree oil certainly. x
The product that interests me most is the Pure Papaya Ointment as I love multi-tasking beauty products, and this sounds like a handbag essential.
