As promised in my original review of the Nars Bold and Iconic New Wave Palette, here is my EOTD featuring every shade in the palette.
The colours featured in this palette are seriously bright and I really wanted to challenge myself to use all of them in a look that I would comfortably wear out.
I wanted to avoid anything drag queen and instead keep the look modern and easy to wear. I’m not great at working with bright shades but I thought it’d be fun to test my ability!
I won’t use the shade names and will instead refer to the colours to make it easier to work out what I’ve used. I started with the mid purple all over the lid. I then used the darker purple on the outer corner and the yellow on the inner corner. I blended all three shades together so there was no obvious join.
I then used the highlighter shade above and on the crease which not only helped blend all the colours together, but it also added more light to the whole look. I then used the black shade as a liner smudged around the upper lash line.
For under the eye, I used the neon blue as a line all the way along the lower lash line and I added some of the yellow on the inner corners.
I finished by using a tiny bit of kohl on the inner water line, then one coat of FM mascara (review coming soon!) to complete the look.
All the shades in this palette are a joy to work with as they can be blended down for a natural look or built-up to a seriously bright pop of colour. I blended all the shades together to make the look as wearable as possible, but I’m thinking if you’re brave enough to go bright then this look would work really well working with the stronger shade elements.
As I said in my review, I’m really happy with this palette as it’s totally opened my mind to trying new ideas and techniques. I’m nowhere near good enough at working with stronger colours yet, but I’m definitely having a lot of fun trying!
Disclosure: palette and mascara were PR samples sent to review.
