So I started writing this post with the intention of sharing with you the NYX Winter in Moscow palette. Then I thought I’d head over to the NYX site to see if it was a one-off special and it….is not. There are loads of them; all reasonably priced, all beautifully presented and all quietly whispering “buy me Sascha….just think of all the fun we could have…” 🙁
Here are the ones whispering the loudest:
Sorry for the crappy cropped image but other than the Winter in Moscow image I’ve had to grab the rest from the site. This is a palette that’ll inevitably speak to me as it’s built around neutral nudes. It contains 15 eyeshadows, 4 blushes, 2 highlighters and 1 bronzer as well as a couple of applicators. It’s £25 here.
I always favour a bronze smoky eye over anything darker as I think it’s much more flattering against my colourings. This is a fab little kit that’ll no doubt travel well, and it contains 9 eye shadows and 2 lip colours as well as a couple of brushes. It very much reminds me of the Bobbi Brown party kits that tend to arrive around the party season, but at a much more purse friendly price of £12 here.
This one is quite similar to the Bronze Smokey Eye kit, but with less focus on smokiness and more on neutral shading. This again contains 9 eyeshadows, 2 lip colours and brushes and is also priced at £12 here.
Lastly we have the mother of all palettes that contains a staggering 47 eye shadows, 5 face colours (whatever that may mean….foundation maybe?), 2 eyeshadow bases, 2 face powders, 6 blushers, 4 concealers, 6 lipglosses, 6 lip lacquer pots, 2 lip pencils, 2 eye liners and 1 mascara making this one helluva’ palette! I think this would make the most phenomenal gift for any make-up lover and it’s priced at a very reasonable £40 here.
So my NYX obsession continues. I’ve now had a good play around with quite a few of their offerings which I’ll be reviewing soon.
Hi there, I generally love NYX for all kinds of makeup but I have to say I am not a fan of their palettes. The quality of the eye shadows in the palettes is far less superior to the quality of their single shadows. I find the ones in the palettes to be chalky and difficult to blend and not as pigmented. I don’t know why there is a difference but I found this to be the case in both the Moscow Palette and the Nude on Nude.
Do you find its the same for you or not?
Many thanks
Grace x
Thanks so much for the heads-up Grace! I haven’t tried any of the NYX palettes yet but I haven’t heard that the texture is different; I’ll definitely keep that in mind before I buy any of them though! xx
I’ve heard lots of positive comments on NYX:)
However, i cant find NYX products in where im living:((((
if i could, i would definitely try the Bronze Smoky Look!!

Oh no! 🙁 That’s such a shame…hope they come to your shores soon xx
