Everyone loves a cleansing balm and everyone loves Elemis, so when news broke that Elemis were launching their Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm*, I knew this would be something to get extremely excited about.
The Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm is the newest member of the award-winning Pro-Collagen family and is a pretty standard balm in the sense that it’s formulated with oils and waxes as a facial cleanser that melts away make-up, dirt and grime. Interestingly, it’s specifically formulated for all skin types to include oily/combination/breakout prone skins which is a big thumbs up from me!
As you’d expect from Elemis, the packaging and the product itself have been created with great attention to detail. Not only is the tub an excellent size and shape with a gloriously luxurious appearance, they’ve also included a face cloth which – unlike most face cloths – is large enough to completely cover your face, meaning that removing all the cleanser in one go is easily achievable, and it’s well crafted so that it holds the heat which allows you to place it over your face for a mini-steam before you remove the cleanser.
The balm itself has a light, waxy consistency that immediately melts to a thick oil on contact. It feels rich and indulgent on the skin but doesn’t feel greasy, which is a personal bugbear of mine with a lot of cleansing balms. It cleanses beautifully and removes every trace of make-up, leaving skin feeling soft, clean and pampered. It is definitely not suitable for the eyes (it removes eye make-up really well but it seriously stings too!) so you would need to remove eye make-up separately. It can be used as a standard cleanser, but can also be applied and left on for a nourishing mask treatment.
It’s safe to say that Elemis have delivered another amazing skincare product that’ll inevitably become a winner. It’s a beautifully presented, wonderfully effective balm that smells gorgeous and feels amazing! It lands this month for £39.50 for 105g at TimetoSpa and the usual stockists.
I have this too but haven’t had chance to use it properly yet. I’ve played with it and smelt it and I just know I’m going to love it!!
I’d be afraid this wouldn’t work with my acne prone skin but it sounds great and would be lovely to use 🙂
I have acne prone skin too but it didn’t cause me any issues. I know what you mean though, you need to tread carefully! I really can’t see this being a problem however xx
I’ve never tried a cleansing balm (shock!) yet I really want to. The fact you have acne prone skin and it works is pleasing to me!
