Before we saw the hugely successful arrival of Benefit FakeUp, Benefit World Famous Neutrals had already landed, yet I fear they may have been slightly usurped by FakeUp, so I thought I’d write them up once the FakeUp Furore had settled down. Benefit World Famous Neutrals* are pretty much my dream come true when it comes to eye palettes: they each house a variety of six shades and textures (2 cream, 4 powder) that can all be mixed and matched and are universally flattering. Within each box there is also a comprehensive guide for creating daytime and nighttime looks. The three variants are Sexiest, Easiest and Most Glamorous, all of which I’ll go into further detail below and the mascara in all pictures is Benefit They’re Real:
Sexiest
Sexiest is the one I’d say is most playful with regards to its categorisation as a neutral, since the main colour themes are purple and silver tones, but yet on the eyes the shades play down and work together to enhance and flatter like a good neutral should. I really like the colours in this palette due to the fact that they’re not typical neutrals but still extremely wearable.
Easiest
Easiest is my personal favourite out of all three of the palettes, as I like the fact that they shades can be really built-up to a smoky eye but still remain neutral. The colour combination stays in the more traditional nude spectrum and includes Thanks A Latte which has become a real favourite for me. The other shades are easy to wear and easy to work with; if you’re not sure how to work a nude smoky eye then this is a fantastic palette to guide you through it.
Most Glamorous
I understand why this collection is called Most Glamorous as the shades included are incredibly playful and flirty; they’re the sort of shades that would look amazing with a tan and evoke images of summer and sunnier climes. This palette contains It’s Complicated which is a gorgeous, light-copper/peach/bronze shade that’s *amazing* on blue eyes but again, as with all the other shades, all of them are designed to work with all eye colours and skin tones.
Benefit are the kings of putting together gorgeous and lust-worthy collections that make any make-up girl’s heart flutter, and these palettes are no exception. All shades and textures are easy to work with to create a variety of looks that I believe both make-up newbies and aficionados alike would get plenty of use from. All priced at £23.50 each and available now from Benefit.
