Glossybox time again! Is it me or does it feel like just a few days ago April’s box was arriving? Clearly lying around feeling ill is the way to force life forward…not that I’m recommending it. Glossybox is now 2 years old, if you can believes it, meaning this month’s box is full of treats from Glossybox’s most trust brands.
Here are the contents for Glossybox May 2013 in order of my favourites as usual:
Headline Colours Nail Varnish in Catwalk
I have a very strange relationship with nail polish as I’m always excited to see it arrive at my house unexpectedly, even though I have absolutely tons of it already. No exception this month as I’m more than happy to see this beautiful bright hue of a slightly corally red, but I understand there’ll be other colours in the various boxes.
Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Prime & Create Mixing Medium
This is quite interesting, and I wasn’t sure where to slot it on the list as the sample size is teeny tiny as well as poorly packaged, as you can see, but I really, really like the idea of the product itself and I think beauty lovers will respond extremely positively to this new concept. The idea is that it’s a kind of bolt-on for other products – although it can be used alone as a mattifying primer – but you can mix it with foundation to give an airbrush effect, mix it with bronzers and blushes to create a cream tint, or mix it with eye shadow pigment to create liquid liners, and one would assume cream shadows too. Interesting, no? I haven’t had a chance to put it to the test yet, but I’m certainly looking forward to giving it a whirl.
Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara
Mascara and I are having a moment, as I’ve managed to find about three that I absolutely love, which is incredibly unusual for the girl who is always on the hunt for the next decent mascara. In fact, one of them is quite possibly my all-time favourite, so I’ll share that with you guys soon. In the meantime, we have a mascara newbie in this month’s box from Jelly Pong Pong. It looks promising, albeit a bit generic, so I’ll be interested to hear what people think. This is a full sized item.
Roger and Gallet Fleur de Figuier
I’m rarely a fan of the inclusion of sachets/perfume samples in boxes but I quite the way this one has been put together; it’s a set of three samples – fragrance, body lotion and shower cream – which I think works as a pretty comprehensive introduction to the new collection. I actually like the scent a lot more than I thought I would; it’s fruity without being too OTT and there’s a warmth there that I think will suit easy summer nights wonderfully.
Glossybox Nail Files
I seem to be in the absolute minority of those who quite like the little gimmicky offerings that Glossybox tend to chuck in to represent the Glossybox brand, but again this month I dig the inclusion! It’s a cute little matchstick set of nail files that will travel really well and I just think they’re cute.
Premae Harmony Balm
Sorry Premae! I hate to put you in last but this to me is the least exciting product in the box, for no other reason than it’s appearance does nothing for me. Premae have a pretty good reputation, and I do like the fact that it’s multi-functional and includes ingredients that will help treat spotty skin, so I will give this a go at some point, I’m just not that enamoured with it.
There we have it. Not a bad box this month with a definite make-up dominance that suits me personally, but I realise a lot of people prefer skincare, so it proves that it’s all a matter of personal taste really isn’t it? I look forward to reading what other’s got in their boxes.

The products seem like a hit or miss! Really interesting but I wish there were bigger products!

Hmmm, interesting.. Not bad, I guess. But I think I was expecting something more since it’s their birthday box :/
I’m SO tempted to get a glossybox, though I must admit I agree with you on the packaging of the last product, its definitely not something I would reach for.
