The lovely people behind Glaceau Vitamin Water (they who very kindly took me to LFW earlier this year) have launched a fantastic mentoring program which will offer emerging talent the chance to work with and learn from some of the best in the creative and media industries and the campaign is called #shinebright.
There are currently six amazing industry pros signed up to the program and these are:
Mikey Trapstar who will give you the chance to showcase your designs at a London fashion popup shop.
Theo Gosselin who will take you to Paris where you can get snap-happy together whilst learning some invaluable photography skills.
Susie Bubble will take you to LFW where you’ll critique the catwalk together.
Jenny Grettve will take you to a music workshop in Sweden.
Lisa Gachet will help you perfect your designer cake-making skills in Paris.
Trine Kjaer will help you kick-start your style brand in Copenhagen.
These are some ridiculously life-changing, money-can’t-buy opportunities that are definitely worth pursuing if you’re looking to further develop your skills in one of the above industry. As someone who’s spent five years at Uni studying various creative disciplines (3 years writing, 2 years music, if you’re interested!) I can confidently say that these are the sort of opportunities that those on my courses would’ve killed for; if only they were around then! Not that you need any formal qualifications as all you need is to be able to showcase your skill and follow a few entry requirements, most of which are different depending on which mentor you’re applying to work with. Other than that, you just need to be over 18 and make sure your entries are in by Friday 16th August 2013.
