You may have already heard of Concoction, who have recently arrived on the beauty market with their range of totally tailor-made shampoos, of which there are 256 possible blends. There are three steps involved in creating your bespoke shampoo: you first pick a base fragrance from Black Pepper & Citrus, Lemon & Verbena, Rosemary & Mint or Bakhour.
You then pick two of the eight superserum shots to be added to your shampoo base to make it completely appropriate for your specific hair concerns, and the options are Beautiful Brunette, High-Definition Blonde, Turn Up the Volume, Thermo-Straight, Ravishing Red, Gimme More Moisture, Back to your Roots and Curl Me Up.
The three products (base and two supershots) are then shaken together to activate. If you’re like me and don’t like to mix and match products, there’s also a Concoction conditioner which has been designed to compliment all variants of the shampoo blends. The conditioner blend is Cashmere and White Lily which I really like the sound of and it smells gorgeous!
For the next few days until the 7th August 2013, there’s a Concoction Pop-Up Store based at Selfridges, London, opposite the Mac counter. There you can have a good nose at the serums available and ponder what sort of mix you’d like before choosing your bespoke blend.
If you’re not able to make it to Selfridges, then you can put together your own mix online at the Concoction store. The shampoos are £14 and the conditioner is £16. I’ll be putting my set to the test (I went for Black Pepper and Citrus with High-Definition Blonde and Turn Up the Volume) so I’ll report back with my findings!
