If you love your make-up to be bright, on trend, easy to work with and flattering then prepare to be wowed by Avon’s newly redeveloped make-up range. Firstly, it’s absolutely massive so I thought I’d do a general overview post s0 as not to bore you to tears, so this is just an introduction to some key elements from the amazing new collection.
The new Avon True Colour collection focuses on the delivery of true colour; meaning that what you see in the pan is what you get on your skin. There are some fantastic shades on offer in both the lip and eye products and I do think there’ll be something to make even the most cynical make-up junkie’s heart skip a beat.
There are fresh and sexy shades in the Lip Crayons and feisty, interesting takes on the new eye quads too. There’s also some great staple brights to add to your kit.
Lip Products
The Lip Crayons are without a doubt going to be the product that everyone gets excited about. “Not another take on the chubby!” I hear you cry! Well, this one is interesting because the colours are absolutely spot-on, and even though they come in crayon form, that’s pretty much where the similarity ends. I’ll be writing up a more comprehensive post on these, so I’ll save my ramblings for that. These will be £7.50.
Next up are the Ultra Colour Lipsticks, of which there are THIRTY SHADES, I kid you not. It seems all the key players in the popular lipstick shade spectrum have been covered, so if you’re a lipstick fiend then here’s a new launch to keep your eyes open for. These will also be £7.50.
Ultra Glazewear Lip Gloss will be available in eighteen shades plus clear. I can’t really comment on these as I haven’t had a chance to give them a good going over, but on first impression they appear juicy, glossy and packed full of colour. These will be £6.50.
Glimmerstick Lip Liner will be available in six shades including some extremely pretty pinks which you can hopefully see in the top shots from the press event. These will be £6.
Eye Products
There will be nine variants of the new True Colour Eye Shadow Quad, each of which will be £9. These are awesome takes on quads as quite a few of them are unusual colour sets that work amazingly well together. If you’re looking to try something a bit different with your eye make-up then here is where you should start. Each shadow in each quad is numbered to give you an application guide, but obviously you can do what you like and there’s a lot of room for make-up fun with these.
There are also six variants of the new True Colour Eye Shadow Duo, which, as the name suggests, contain two shades and will be priced at £6 a pop. Again there are some great shades; mostly what you’d expect from duos but there are a few surprises thrown in for good measure.
Saving the best ’til last, the True Colour 8in1 Eye Shadow Palette is an absolute stonker in both variants. I have the Nudes and I’ve only started using it recently (favouring it’s slightly more daring quad siblings for a bit of make-up newness) but my word should this palette expect some abuse as the shade edit is amazing! There’s a fantastic selection of formulas and shades, all of which are complimentary and very easy to wear; if you buy one thing from the new collection, make it this! If nudes aren’t your thing then The Metallics version is also a bit gorgeous with some warmer, more vibrant shades to play with.
There we have it! Isn’t this a lovely collection to get excited about? Avon continue to up their game and impress me no end, as being an affordable yet surprisingly ballsy make-up brand that are definitely worth keeping a close eye on. All this newness launches in August 2013.
