Here we have my last post letting you know about the new collections from Models Own. This one is another glitter launch, which you might find a little overkill considering how much sparkle there is in the newest Models Own launches, and I wouldn’t be in complete disagreement with you to be honest, however, there are a couple of gems to check out, so do keep an open mind!
The Models Own Fireworks Collection is actually quite well thought out, as it’s a collection of five glitter top coats with varying levels of intensity. So you have a basic glitter (one shade of glittery strands in Sparkler) before the intensity shifts greatly to a much higher level of glitter and sparkle that makes the Firework name much more appropriate. The next level up is Catherine Wheel which contains four glitter types, then Banger with five glitter types, Roman Candle with six and finally Rocket with seven. So you see, it’s quite an interesting take on the typical approach to glittery nails, allowing you to decide what level of glittery intensity you fancy. I feel the whole Fireworks collection is designed to be used as top coat, and in the swatches below you have two coats on top of a white base coat and a black base coat.
Sparkler
As mentioned above, Sparkler is the base level of glitter intensity with just the one type of glitter included. It reminds me of tinsel and it’s quite sweet but nothing too exciting. I prefer it over the black to the white, but this is my least favourite in the collection.
Catherine Wheel
This is the next step up in the glitter intensity level and this one contains four glitters including gold strands and red polka dots. I’m not sure why, but this one screams Christmas nails to me (sorry to be saying the dreaded “C” word so early in the year) so I can see this one being popular come the C season.
Banger
Banger is my absolute favourite from the collection as I love blue and pink together in glitter form, plus how beautiful does it look over both the black and white swatches? Just gorgeous! Over white it gives a kind of graffiti style effect, and over the black it’s more like its namesake of a firework. It’s chaotic and fun and just too pretty.
There we have the last of my Models Own posts…for now! The Models Own Fireworks Collection is available now at the Bottleshop and will launch online at Models Own on the 2nd September and into Boots on the 4th.
