Since going in and coming out of hospital I’ve been terribly neglectful of my skincare routine. I’m someone who is mostly quite committed to a solid routine, which usually includes several mask treatments a week, and one mask that I really love is the Skinceuticals Clarifying Clay Masque, which I’ve been talking about quite a bit recently. I’ve been on a mission to find the very best spot-fighting masks, and this one definitely deserves a well-earned place on my list. I haven’t used it since hospital and I really miss it!
Whilst this is a clay based mask, it’s actually extremely creamy and light feeling; there’s none of that chalky, dry texture normally associated with a clay product, and instead it feels light and extremely gentle. It takes around ten minutes to dry, but as usual I tend to leave mine on for a good half an hour. Once dry it washes off with ease and isn’t laborious to remove.
I’ll be writing up my list of spot-fighting masks soon, and I would say that this one is the most universally suitable as I can’t see any skin types having a problem with this, unlike other clay masks which might prove too drying for certain skin types and conditions. Because of this, the mask is a combination skin type’s dream come true as it’s so soothing and calming – red, angry breakouts look much calmer after use – and it definitely won’t upset any dry areas; skin doesn’t feel dry at all after use, just clean, cleansed, considerably less inflamed and generally much clearer. This isn’t cheap at around £45 for 60ml (depending on where you shop) but I would imagine you’d get at least 15 uses from it – above is after 4 uses – and I’ve found it reduced to £32.95 here – link.
