Everyone is going a bit loopy for the Guy Bourdin inspired collection from Nars and quite rightly too, as it’s a gorgeous edit of stunning shades to brighten the dullest of winter days…and nothing embodies that impact more than this polish shade. Nars Union Libre is a limited edition shade (sadly) of a beautiful, floral pink which is described as Blossom Pink.
Blossom Pink is quite accurate; it’s a blue-toned fuchsia that’s fantastically bright, but stays on the safe side of neon. It’s a lovely shade for both feet and hands, and I’ve already put this aside as my first pedicure shade of the summer – can you imagine how amazing this will look against a tan?
I’m aware I already have more than enough fuchsia shades in my collection, but I saw this and had to have it; although I did visit the counter several times before going ahead with the purchase thus proving that I am occasionally capable of a degree of self-restraint…this is proved further by the fact that there is a matching lipstick which I didn’t purchase, although it is an extremely pretty shade so that could change quite soon.
The finish and consistency of this polish is lovely; one coat is opaque but two coats gives you that truly full and glossy finish. I’ve only had this on for three days, but so far no chips have appeared and the high-shine finish is still apparent. I’d say this is probably my second favourite all time shade (only slightly pipped by Orly’s Oh Cabana Boy) as it’s such a flattering colour – I would imagine there are very few skin tones that this wouldn’t look amazing on – and it’s also one of those shades that’s cross-seasonal so you can wear it as often as you like.
Nars Guy Bourdin Union Libre is available now, both in store and online, for £14. Head to the Nars site here – link – for more info.
