Just when I was suffering from major “Chubby Fatigue” thanks to the huge onslaught of pencil-style lipsticks, here comes Sisley’s offering to get me all hot and bothered again. The Sisley Phyto-Lip Twists jumps into top position for Chubby products for me, as they delivers flawlessly on every aspect and are everything a chubby lip should be!
You get plenty of colour that’s buildable from sheer to extremely pigmented (my ‘on the lips’ pictures below are somewhere in the middle), long-lasting payoff which a slight stain that means you’re left with colour for a good few hours, the inclusion of skincare goodies to plump, firm and most importantly, moisturise lips leaving them feeling as nourished as they do post-lip balm application, and most importantly, a really gorgeous edit of shades.
The six shades to be launched are: Nude (soft beige), Baby (tender pink), Peach (zesty coral), Pinky (luminous fuchsia pink), Berry (succulent plum) and Cherry (intense red). I was sent Baby, Peach and Pinky which are the shades featured in this post.
I’d say the shade descriptions are mostly spot on, but I haven’t found Peach to be that orangey, which is what you’d expect from a shade with the name Peach. Instead I find it very red leaning with the slightest hint of coral; personally it’s much more flattering on me that a Peach shade as I don’t suit anything orange, but those seeking a Runway Coral or Morange shade might be disappointed.
I expected Baby to be my favourite shade, and whilst it is a beautiful, creamy pink, my favourite of the three by far is Pinky which is a brilliant and bright fuchsia that makes looking polished easy, as teamed with a slick of black liner it’s proving to be one of my favourite looks at the moment.
The packaging is the gorgeous Zebra Print style casing (as featured in my blog header at the top left!) that the Sisley brand use for products that are part of their Phyto-Blush Eclat line. Some of the packaging is also metal which I think is a really nice touch as it will last longer whilst being battered around in my handbag. Sisley is an expensive brand, but you do get what you pay for and these Phyto-Lip Twists are definitely investment pieces. They’ll be launching on the 1st February 2014 here – link – and will cost £28 each.
