As the sun finally starts appearing with a degree of regularity, let me introduce you to a beautifully summery fragrance range from The Body Shop, English Dawn White Gardenia. The collection consists of four products; an Eau De Toilette, a Fragrance Mist, a Shower Gel and a Body Lotion. I was fortunate to be sent everything other than the shower gel which has allowed me to create a fragrance layer (body lotion followed by the mist and finished with the EDT) which meant I could fully cocoon myself in the fragrance to get a good idea of how it feels and smells through the various levels of fragrance.
Firstly, I’m happy to report that the scent itself is stunning and punches high above it’s extremely reasonable price-tag; it’s very floral, as the name suggests, but it’s a little on the gutsy side thanks the inclusion of citric notes that keep it fresh and sparkly rather than allowing it to go to fully into floral territory. The notes are Bergamot at the top, Tuberose and White Gardenia at the heart and Sandalwood at the base. This makes for a simple and surprisingly elegant scent that I’m really impressed with, housed in the most intensely pretty packaging I’ve seen on fragrance for a while!
When I first opened the products, I expected to like the EDT most. Whilst I do really like the EDT, my favourite is the Fragrance Mist as it’s so wonderfully light yet refreshing and it manages to ‘hold back’ so you can pretty much cover yourself in the mist and the fragrance will remain light rather than saturating which is perfect for this time of the year. I haven’t used the body lotion much as I’m rubbish at using body lotions in general, but both the mist and the EDT have been used regularly together, making for a really pretty duo that smell current, fresh and delightfully seasonal. The EDT is £15, the Fragrance Mist is £7.50, Shower Gel is £6.50 and lastly the Body Lotion is £10. The full range is available now (just in time for Mother’s Day!) both in store and online – link.

I’m very excited about this – it’s a classic scent for me and I really hope that The Body Shop has come up with a pure, irresistible Gardenia :o) Xx
