If you’re a fan of the recently released Liz Earle polishes then you’ll want to check out their new shades for SS14, Awakening and Moonlight. Awakening is a coral peach tone (it’s described as pastel pink but I wouldn’t personally see it as a pink shade) and Moonlight which is a muted mid-grey shade; even though it’s most definitely not a nude, it’s kind of got nude appeal, so if you’re a nude fan or like muted shades then Moonlight is the one for you.
Both shades are seasonal limited editions and I really like both – although I wouldn’t say I’m in love with either – and I admire the fact that the brand has chosen such unusual shades to represent their take on Summer nail shades, instead of going for the typical brights and floral-leaning colours.
Out of the two I’d say Moonlight is my favourite as I don’t have anything else to match it in my collection that I can think of. It’s also a great base shade for all kinds of nail art as you can see in my swatches which include floral nail art to coincide with the Chelsea Flower Show; if you’re a flower fan then it’s worth paying the store a visit (here’s the address – link) as not only is it located amongst one of the main areas for floral displays, they’ve also marked the occasion with their own beautifully presented arrangements.
The Liz Earle polishes give a rich, glossy finish that definitely needs two coats, but it dries quickly and stays chip-free for a good few days. If you haven’t tried them then they’re a bit of a steal at £7.50 a pop; head here – link – for more info.
