June is clearly the month for beauty boxes since I am loving this month’s offering from Glossybox! Having said that, Glossybox June 2014 will divide a lot of people as it’s very make-up heavy; a feature that I personally like as I much prefer make-up items to skincare, but I know a lot of people say the exact opposite so I anticipate mixed reviews.
My June 2014 Glossybox contains five products, four of which are full-sized; not bad eh? Here’s a look at the contents in order of my favourites:
There are certain items that will always get me excited no matter what, and make-up brushes is most definitely one of those things. The more I hear of the Teeez brand the more I like them and consequently I am keeping my beady eye on them. They appear to be a brand that creates unique and interesting make-up in an almost couture fashion approach which I personally find extremely appealing, although their website is a little tricky to navigate and I have no idea how much the brush costs. The brush I received is the Flat Stiff Eye Brush that I think will work really well as either a crease brush, a blending brush or even a concealer brush which leads me nicely to…
…the So Susan Concealer Quad which, as the name suggests, is a quad of concealers. I wouldn’t say I find concealers exciting, more like bread and butter make-up in that I have to use them, I’m constantly on the hunt for a good one and I’m always happy to try them. I do love the look of this quad as it contains four shades ranging from white to dark so I should be able to get a near perfect match to my skin with a bit of mixing and blending. Other boxes contained a blusher and even though I’m going through a serious blush phase, I’d say I’m happier to receive this concealer. So Susan is another rather interesting looking brand that appears to be mid range and is well worth checking out if you’re looking for a new line of make-up to sink your teeth into. The quad costs £17.
I love blushers, I love brushes and I love mascaras and these are all things that I continually, obsessively purchase, so I’m very happy to have another mascara to try in the form of L’Oreal Volume Million Lashes, another full-sized item. I go through mascaras more quickly than Harry Styles goes through women so I can’t actually recall whether I’ve used this mascara previously even though it looks familiar (but doesn’t all make-up?) however, I will definitely be trying this soon and I’m happy it’s in the box. It’s worth £10.99.
This is pretty much a box that’s made for me as I do love a nail product and here we have something from a brand I haven’t tried before. The Nailgirls 3in1 Base, Top Coat and Strengthener is a great inclusion as I think it’s the sort of product that most of us would get use from, rather than including a nail colour that some might not fancy wearing. I can’t seem to find any info on this product as the Nailgirl site is down, but I’d guess this would be a mid priced product.
Lastly, we have the Rituals Qi Gong 24h Anti-Perspirant Spray which is the only sample sized product in the box. It’s only at the bottom of my list because I find the other products more exciting, but this is a beautifully scented spray (white lotus and Yi Yi Ren) in a travel-friendly 50ml spray. It’s worth £3.50 and it’s going straight in my handbag.
I’m really happy with the June 2014 Glossybox as I think it’s a great selection of both well-known brands and brands that are lesser known but are well worth checking out. For more info on Glossybox, have a look here – link.
