Arguably the most famous Elemis product is their Pro-Collagen Marine Cream as it’s such a great moisturiser that suits most skin types and provides hydration alongside anti-ageing ingredients; it’s probably the product most people would mention when the brand comes into conversation too. However, if you’re prone to dryness or dehydration then the original Marine Cream formula probably won’t be rich enough for you, so enter the newest arrival, the Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich.
I do agree with Mrs Hirons in that calling it “ultra rich” is misleading and evokes images of thick, dense balms which is definitely not what this is. Instead it’s just a slightly thicker but considerably more nourishing take on the original; if you have skin that’s prone to dryness and tightness, here’s your new winter cream. It also would work well alongside the original as you could use this as a night cream whilst using the original during the day. I’m tending to use it as a treatment a couple of times a week as it’s very corrective and good at balancing my skin, however I do think it’s probably too much for my skin to use every day. Having said that, my skin is really prone to dehydration so I’ll be upping the use of this accordingly; it’s a particularly beautiful finish after some heavy duty mask action! One thing I will point out is that it does have that strong “marine cream” smell which you either love or hate. I love Elemis, you only have to do a quick search on my blog to know that, so consequently I’m currently putting together a little feature on my favourite Elemis products. Therefore if you’re new to the brand and don’t know where to start, keep your eyes peeled for that. The Elemis Pro-Collagen Marine Cream Ultra Rich is available now for £80 here – link.
