The Christmas launches have started a’launching and I’m kicking off the first of my posts on them with a look at the Christmas offerings from Pixi. There are just 3 products forming the Christmas collection, but all together they offer everything you need for Christmas sparkle with the trademark easy-to-wear Pixi approach to make-up.
If you’re unfamiliar with Pixi, they’re a fantastic brand of products that focus a lot more on enhancement and prettiness rather than radical colours and following fashion, so if you like your make-up natural and pretty then check out Pixi ASAP.
I’ll start with my least favourite of the three which is the Fairy Dust Favourites – a stacked collection of 6 loose pigments in beautifully wearable shades. The Fairy Dusts were launched a little earlier this year and they are fabulous loose pigments that add either a hint of sparkle or full on glitz depending on how you apply it. I like the stacked option as I think it not only would make a gorgeous gift, it’s also a pretty and practical way of using them. The reason it’s my least favourite is because I’m unlikely to have a use for them any time soon, but I still rate them for anyone who has a social life more active than me, and by that I mean someone who goes out at least once a year…This is £18 here – link.
Next up is the awesome trio of lip balms, the aptly named Shea Butter Lip Balm Trio. These are faaaaabulous lip balms that taste good and are really nourishing and comfortable to wear, easy to use in a roll-up lipstick format and well-packaged; once the balm is all the way down into the tube it clicks into place and stays there which I think is a really nice touch and will stop any mushy lipbalm issues occurring. This is a great little edit with the transparent one being the one I’ve used from the get-go every morning and night, plus there’s a nude shade (true nude) and a bright red/pink shade (pretty raspberry pink). This trio will set you back £18 here – link.
Last is the show-stopper of the three, which is the rather amazing 2nd edition of the Ultimate Beauty Kit. This brilliant book style palette contains 40 (!!) eyeshadows, 6 highlighters and 6 blushers, with the shadows sitting to the left and right of the central cheek and face products. The left hand shadows are all cool shades in various finishes, whilst the right side has the warmer colours. This is a stunning palette that makes the ideal Christmas present, but as it contains so many shades it’s one of those products that will see you through all the different seasons making it an ideal investment piece at just £34 here – link.
