I’m still brimming with excitement over the Bobbi Brown Hot Collection, and having had a good play with the products I have, the joy is showing no signs of subsiding. Check out my intro post here to find out more about the full collection as today I’m focusing on the limited edition Cheek Palette in Pink.
There are three Cheek Palettes available as part of the Hot Collection, with the other two shade variants being Calypso for medium skin tones and Berry for dark skin tones, however I’m fairly confident there’s a level of flexibility here as I’m sure I could make Calypso work (*keeps telling self that to justify upcoming purchase*) so I’m thinking these are just guidelines for the most flattering shade/skin tone combinations. The Pink Cheek Palette is aimed at light to medium skin tones making it perfect for me.
The idea of the Bobbi Brown Cheek Palettes is that they give you three complimentary shades that work together to create a seriously flattering, healthy glow. This is a very handy palette as not only do you get two shades of blusher (one bright, one more neutral) you also get a higlighter and a great sized mirror, so this is a great investment for travelling.
The three shades in the Pink Cheek Palette are, from left to right, Pale Pink – a bright pop of pink, Pink Highlight – a shimmery, sheer pink and Powder Pink – a more neutral take on a pale pink.
To use all together, you apply the more neutral of the three as a general wash of colour, before adding a strong pop of colour on the apples of the cheeks with the brighter shade. You then finish off with the highlight shade to add light and glow. These are obviously just guidelines and you can use these any way you like, but for the benefit of the post I’ve used all three shades in that manner in the pictures. As you can see, the finish is flattering, healthy and very natural.
I can see myself using this Cheek Palette a lot as it’s so easy to use and gives a great finish. As with all Bobbi Brown blushers, the product itself is finely milled and highly pigmented, so a little goes a long way and the colours blend down beautifully. Don’t forget, these are limited edition, so if you want one you’ll need to act quickly. They’re not quite in-store yet, but there’s a preview at the Bobbi Brown site here – link – where you can find the Cheek Palettes for £34 each. I’ll shortly be posting about the Sheer Lip Colors from the Hot Collection, two of which I’m wearing in the above pictures. They are amazing!
