I have a double whammy of Mask Monday for you today, starting with this beautifully packaged, wonderfully scented and uniquely formulated moisture-booster, the Suqqu Moisture Rich Mask.
As you can see, the packaging is extremely minimal – when it arrived I thought the box was a sample box rather than the actual packaging! – and the enclosed tube of product is a pearlescent white that doesn’t photography too well (probably not a high priority of the creators, let’s face it…) but looks beautiful and elegant amongst the busyness of more brightly coloured skincare.
The mask itself is quite a strange texture as it feels a little bit like what you might get if you mixed a deeply moisturising cream with Vaseline. It feels odd going on the skin but if you’re prone to dehydration or dryness and are familiar with that feeling that skin gets when it finally receives the hydration it craves, you’ll know exactly how this feels! It’s almost like skin relaxes, and as it’s a very balmy texture you can massage it around and really settle angry, dry skin right down. It has a strong floral scent which is lovely, but it might upset sensitive skin types so patch test if you’re unsure. Interestingly I was expecting skin to feel flooded with moisture after use (you apply, leave for a bit, then tissue off – I use cotton soaked in toner) but it actually just felt smooth and soft, kind of like I’d applied a really good primer. It’s a lovely product that ticks all the boxes; it looks good, smells good and feels good and you can find it at Selfridges here – link – for £45.
