I’ve been spoilt for choice with some amazing new base product launches recently, which has meant that some products deserving of a decent level of love have instead been woefully neglected, which is very much the case with this lovely bb cream from Erborian – if you don’t know of the brand, check out my intro post here.
The Erborian BB Creme Au Ginseng feels absolutely lovely on the skin, blends like a dream and covers very well – I’d say it’s medium to high coverage, but not quite full, however you do need to build it up in layers to achieve the higher end of coverage.
As with all BB creams this is a skincare/makeup hybrid, with the lead skincare ingredient being ginseng for regenerating and energising skin. There’s also an SPF25 making it a great overall base product, either on its own or under higher coverage products if that’s something you need.
There are a couple of downsides to this BB cream; firstly, it’s a relatively expensive product at £35 and secondly, it’s a perfect match for my pale skin, meaning it’s probably going to be far too light for a lot of skin tones and I can’t seem to find any other shades available which is a real shame. As it blends very well I think most paler skin tones will be able to work with it, but anything darker than (I’m guessing) a Mac shade 25-30 would probably start to struggle. To summarise, this offers great coverage in a lovely dewy finish that’s extremely natural and lasts really well. It isn’t cheap but if you’re after a good quality, skin-loving base product then this is a great contender which can be found here – link.
