This month sees the launch of the first Styl London monthly manicure box, which, as the names suggests, is a beauty subscription service that focuses on nail products. As Styl London stock a range of nail wraps (and were the first in the UK to stock gel nail wraps) the boxes will contain, from what I can gather, mostly nail wrap and stick-on nails.
Each monthly box will contain three sets of nails wraps, various goodies and tools as well as a surprise gift. Obviously if you’re a nail wrap fan and you like good quality wraps then this box has your name written all over it, but I worry this box is a little too niche as I don’t know of anyone who’s into their nails but only really likes wraps. I think the box will need to contain polishes and nail art sets or kits to appeal to a wider audience as I love the idea of a box containing all sorts of nail loveliness, but I can’t see myself getting excited about a few packs of nail wraps. Add to that the fact that the box is quite expensive (just under £18 all in) and I don’t think many people will be happy to pay that – yes I’m sure it’s a decent saving on the value of the products, but if you’re taking away the element of choice, you have to subsidise it with extremely impressive content and value.
This month’s box contains two sets of Instant Gel Nail Wraps, one set of Instant Nail Polish Wraps, one set of Instant Manicure stick-on nails and a 4-sided nail buffer. The nails wraps come in some lovely designs and even though I’m not a massive fan of wraps, I will give these a go to see how they fare. The first Styl London monthly manicure box is not the most exciting I’ve ever seen, but it’s early days for a relatively small company, so hopefully the boxes will improve and become a nail lover’s dream.
