A few weeks ago I visited the Jo Loves store to meet up with Jo Malone and create a Shot Candle; I’ve posted all about the experience here, but I thought it was time I shared with you my review of the candle itself.
I’m absolutely obsessed with salted caramel – I love the way it tastes and smells, so if it’s ever on offer in any shape or form, I will always choose it, so when it came to light that it was available as a shot, all I need to know was which base scent would work best with it – my decision was made!
I had a good nose through the various options before deciding on Fig Trees, since I felt it really complimented the salted caramel scent. Jo put the candle together for me before signing the paper insert – I’ve take a picture of the bag slightly out of focus so you can hopefully see both Jo’s and my signature – before it was wrapped up a gorgeous box.
The gorgeous box contained both the candle and some lovely long matches, the latter of which I was strangely excited about – you know a candle’s posh if it comes with its own box of matches! The candle itself creates the most fantastic and inviting aroma that really does linger – it’s strong without overpowering, with the salted caramel dominating for the first couple of hours before the fig trees join in.
As I said in my previous post, this is such a great concept as it allows you to create your own candle that contains scents you love, in a combination that you want. It’s also a great idea as a gift, as how happy would you be to receive one of these? Whilst it’s great to go into the studio itself and create in person, if you know what sort of scents you like then you can easily do it online here – link – for £75.
