Have you seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? If so, I’m like the dad it with his Windex obsession, although I use NatraSan instead. For those who are unfamiliar, the awesome dad of the lead character in the film likes to solve absolutely everything with a quick spritz of the window cleaning product, Windex. I have a lovely big bottle of NatraSan that I’ve been using for pretty much everything I can think of – this product is a total star for any mums with small children!
NatraSan is a very effective first aid spray and anti-bacterial that’s made of pure Hypochlorous Acid, a substance found in our white blood cells, meaning it’s totally safe to ingest and consequently has so many uses. The baby things I’ve used it for are giving toys a quick clean when they’ve been on the floor (I just spray and wipe) as Teddy likes to put absolutely everything in his mouth, calming and soothing marks or scratches – he had a very light cat scratch on his face that immediately looked better after I applied this, and it was virtually gone by the morning – and finally for giving the mouthpiece of his water bottle a clean when we’re out.
Whilst I’m focusing on the uses of this for baby stuff, it actually has many of adult uses too. The first thing I used it for was to treat a shaving cut on my leg – it not only soothed the pain, it also stopped the bleeding. As it’s so good for soothing skin, it’s also handy for whenever you have spots that bleed, which is something I used to get quite a bit whenever I’d wash my face if I had an angry spot. It’s apparently also a very good, gentle spot treatment too, although I haven’t used it for this. Lastly, it can be used to deodorise things like foot odour and athlete’s foot, and can even be used as a mouthwash! It’s £10 for 250ml here – link – which will definitely last you a good long while.
