Beauty-Lovers Flooring Tips

October 30, 2015 · In: Uncategorized

Elements 2 Boulder (1)_retouch

Carpetright have recently joined forces with HouseBeautiful to create a gorgeous new range of flooring, and have asked me to create some sponsored content to showcase some of their new products and how they can be beneficial to my beauty-loving readers, so here’s a look at some of the new range alongside some of my beauty tips that I’ve shared with Carpetright to feature on their page.

If you’re a beauty-lover, then chances are you have a lot of products, so you might want to consider this when selecting your flooring.  For example, it’s probably not a good idea to lay expensive white carpet directly beneath your dressing table where all your make-up and skincare sits.  Instead, why not go for a deeper, earthier shade of carpet, such as the Earth’s Core Texture Carpet in the China shade, where spillages are more likely  to blend in rather than stand out.

Also keep in mind lighting when deciding your flooring choices, as going too dark in a small room with very little light will make the room appear tiny and claustrophobic, whereas adding a lighter, fluffier carpet such as the Nature Plain Velvet Carpet in First Light will open up the space, whilst also making it a more comfortable to walk around on when your bare-footed, post-pampering.  Speaking of pampering, regular readers will know how much value I place on at-home treatments such as facials, manicures and pedicures.  If you’re short on time, a good body buff with a lovely, oily scrub, followed by a big hit of body cream or oil will do wonders for you, both physically and mentally, without taking too much time.  Ideally try and do your loofah and scrub before you hit the shower, but if you’re worried about getting product on your carpet or floor, a gorgeously patterned rug like something from the Mountain Collection, is easy to clean or replace and keeps the flooring underneath safe and clean, so it’s especially good for high traffic or high risk areas, such as around your dressing table.

Finally, if you’re like me and aim for a life that’s as easy as possible, vinyl flooring is your friend.  Vinyl flooring is no longer the dingy red stuff you see in hospital waiting rooms, and instead can be found in an array of sophisticated styles and finishes, with some amazing examples to be found in the Carpetright/HouseBeautiful collaboration.  My favourites are the Elements Bronze Vinyl Flooring and the Elements Zinc Vinyl Flooring, which are both beautifully neutral and easy to work into any colour scheme.  Plus a special shout-out has to be given to the Calico flooring, since Calico is my foundation shade at Boots!
