One of the worst things I can do with my free time is log-on to the tarte section of QVC – I always leave wanting absolutely everything (there are at least four things I’ll be buying shortly) and at the moment there is so, so, so much amazingness (it’s a word…) from the brand, that I challenge you to check out all the current releases and come away wanting nothing. It won’t happen. It just won’t. I’m lucky enough to have some of the holiday releases, so I thought I’d show you three of the best, plus I’ll also be doing a slightly more in-depth post looking at the beautiful Holiday Blockbuster Collection, so keep your peepers peeled for that.
First is a demonstrate of the beauty that is tarte packaging; say hello to the Amazonian Butter Lipstick Quad, which is a quartet (I’m using that word a lot lately, aren’t I? Everything is coming in fours!) of stunningly packaged, creamy, butter lipsticks in universally flattering shades – you get a nude and three berries, all of which are subtle takes on the “my lips but better” colour.
These would make particularly good stocking fillers (although you’ll need to order quickly!) and I absolutely love the formula; the pigmentation is decent and buildable with a lightly glossy finish that isn’t too thick or rich. They also provide a great hit of hydration, so they’re ideal for the colder months. You’ll find them here – link – for £26, which works out at £6.50 each, which is an extremely good bargain.
When it comes to base application, tarte do some of the very best brushes you can get – not a day goes by that I don’t use at least one of their brushes (usually this one – link – which is currently in a limited edition finish alongside the Full Coverage Foundation for £30; I’ve included it in the first picture) so any kind of brush kit that they release is a must-have for me. The tarte Tools of the Trade Make-up Brush Collection contains five essential brushes (one of which is double-ended) including two eye brushes and three base brushes for £36 here – link.
Finally, the very exciting, practical and beautiful tarte Holiday Blockbuster Collection, which would be the dreamiest of presents, but actually is the sort of thing that I would recommend selfishly treating yourself to, as it’s just wonderful. I’ve got a few pictures to show you so I’ll save that for another post, but it’s another example of how you can get a lot for your buck with tarte holiday sets, as this whole set costs £35 – link.
These are just three examples of the mega holiday collection available from tarte. Other great examples include the 15 Piece Maracuja Lipgloss Collection (15 lipglosses!) for £31.50 here – link, the 4 Piece Liner and Shadow Stick Kit for £32.50 here – link – and the Perfect Pink Lip Duo here – link. I personally want all of the concealers. All of them. Every single one. I really need to step away from the computer…

I’m interested to know which of the Eyeshadows are Shimmer and Matte… Or approximately how many of each?
So sorry for the delay Sophie – I think it’s roughly half and half, although maybe slightly more shimmery than matte. I don’t have access to them at the moment so I can’t confirm for sure either way, sorry I can’t be more help!
