If you’ve somehow managed to avoid social media today then you might not be aware that it’s International Women’s Day! Therefore it felt totally appropriate to make this week’s Quick Pick Tuesday focus a product that’s all about women, the L’Occitane Ultra Soft Balm. Every year, the brand release a new scent of this gorgeous balm (last year was apricot flavoured and it became one of my most-used products of the year – so many uses!) and this year the fragrance is rose; not a sickly, synthetic rose, but more of a gentle, pretty, genuine floral take on this iconic scent.
The L’Occitane Ultra Soft Balm is a yearly release to show solidarity for the women of Burkina Faso who produce the Shea Butter that’s used in L’Occitane products. Consequently, 100% of the profits made from the sales of the Ultra Soft Balm go to helping these women. It’s a lovely product with a lovely concept and a bargain at £4, however, if these reasons don’t sell you, keep in mind the many uses for this fantastic wonder balm; the many uses I’ve found for it include: softening lips and any hard skin, nourish hands and cuticles and tame flyaways. However, the main thing I use the balm for is a barrier product when either dyeing hair or fake-tanning. If you have dry skin that can show up fake tan marks, apply a little bit of this balm to the areas first and it ensures a much more natural finish. This handy and gloriously fragranced balm is available now here – link.

I have recently discovered L’Occitain products after walking past their shop for weeks and am totally in love with their Shea Butter Hand Cream. Their lip balm sounds like another must try for me!
I love L’Occitane – they’re actually one of the very few brands who release body stuff that I actually get excited about! xx
