As soon as the Fortune Favours the Brave palette launched – the collaboration between Makeup Revolution and Jane from British Beauty Blogger – I had to build myself a little haul so I could justify ordering it. The palette is just dreamy; everything you’d expect to be, full of wearable takes on navy, khaki, plum and nudes with varying finishes that allow you to create an impressively array of looks. Here’s my first attempt with this gorgeous palette!
The other palette I got, which is one I’ve been toying with picking-up for quite a while, is the Iconic Smokey Palette, which I went for purely because I tend to seek out nuder, more brown shades, and this one has lots of smokey greys alongside cooler leaning nudes, so I’m hoping to start trying out more grey eye looks and I’ll keep you updated with how I get on.
Decent pink lip liners, especially those that are lighter and/or brighter, are surprisingly tricky to track down, so I thought I’d include some in my haul as I want to start using liner again since a strong, well-defined lip is something I haven’t tried out for quite some time. I went for the shades Nearly Naked and Soft Pink, alongside a lipstick in the shade Cheer, which I didn’t realise it’s actually quite sparkly so probably not one to get a lot of use from me – I think it’s also been discontinued as it was in the sale (75p!) when I purchased it. The final product has become a bit of a staple for me, which is the Focus & Fix Eye Primer Original. I have a few new lines on my upper lids where eyeshadow tends to settle really quickly – pair that with slight oiliness and make-up tends to start moving into the cracks and crevices almost as soon as it’s applied, but just a light application of this primer keeps everything in place extremely well…as in, really, impressively well for such a cheap product. It’s £2.50. Seriously. I’m in a vicious circle with MUR as each time I post as haul post, I end up going on the site to find links and prices for products I’ve bought, then finding a whole new load I want and starting another haul. Blimin’ MUR…
*All purchased by me. Because I NEEDED THEM.
