I’ve always been a bit in awe of the Korean skincare approach, as it all seems so wonderfully simple, with all these steps that come together to create a balanced and perfected finish leaving skin looking and feeling truly wonderful. I’ve never been one to shy away from multi-step skincare and I happily use several cleansers, toners, serums, oils and hydrators in a bid to try and strike the balance that is a spot-free yet well-hydrated complexion, but I rarely get there, and if you’ve read my blog for any length of time then you’ll know that! Make-up is another area of beauty where I’m always happy to use multiple products to achieve a desired finish, and I usually get on better with this; I’ll use a few different types of colour correctors and concealers in an attempt to hide my rubbish skin. I didn’t realise that the main make-up products in the Erborian line were actually designed to be used alongside each other rather than individually; I’m familiar with the main products – the Pink Perfect Creme (my favourite), the BB Creme and the CC Creme – but I never knew that, ideally, they should be layered in the much the same way as you do your skincare routine.
The Pink Perfect Creme is a lot like a primer in texture, and it works as the main base for the other products to adhere to. Next is the BB Creme, which as we know, is designed to provide a whole host of skincare goodies depending on what you want (Erborian do quite a few now – the one pictured here is the Au Ginseng one, which helps with hydration and feels absolutely lovely on; it’s also available in a Clair shade especially for us pale girls) then the final product is the CC Creme, which kind of fills the gaps that the others left, so if you don’t have the greatest skin and need extra coverage then out comes the CC Creme. It’s the highest coverage product and it really is the perfect finisher, designed to bring the trio together to achieve the best possible base. The Erborian finishers are all priced from £15 upwards for a 15ml tube, which is great if you want to dip your toe in and try them out before investing in the full-sized products. You can find all the Erborian finishers here.
