Marie Claire recently launched their online store, Fabled.com (alongside a London-based shop) which consists of carefully selected edit of beauty products that they believe are worthy of exposure, so the mix consists of everything from great budget brands like Bourjois and Rimmel, to crowd-pleasing favourites from Urban Decay, Nars and Clinique, plus the more luxury brands Oskia, La Mer and Burberry.
Whilst most of the brands I’ve mentioned are pretty well known, there are also some fabulous, lesser known brands such as Skyn Iceland, Dermovia and Antonia Burrel. There really is a fantastic selection and it’s pretty much a beauty-shopper’s dream, with a huge, covetable collection of beauty spanning every element (skincare, make-up, fragrance, hair, etc) with lots of inspiration; there’s a Marie Claire Edit page that lists groups of products such as Blemish Busters and Nude Lipsticks, as well as specific features on particular brand releases like the Urban Decay Vice Lipsticks…and of course everything is available on site. My advice is to only have a browse if you’ve recently been paid, otherwise it’ll just be a depressing experience for all involved.
I was given a voucher to try the Fabled shopping experience and it really is fantastic. It’s quite difficult to stand out from the heaving crowd of online beauty shops, but where Fabled have nailed it is by joining forced with Ocado to offer delivery. This means that you can pick a one hour delivery slot (all free assuming you’ve spent £15 or more, £3.90 if you spend less, and if you’re someone who spends less than £15 when visiting a beauty shop then please get in touch as I need lessons) which can be anything from the next day onwards, and as Ocado offer an amazing selection of delivery times starting at 6.30am and going right through until 11.30pm, you can plan your make-up delivery for exactly when it suits you. I really hope other beauty sites start offering something similar as this is brilliant! There are a few other delivery options too (just in case the aforementioned doesn’t do it for you, for whatever reason) and the service is pretty much faultless. With my voucher, I decided to pick-up an old favourite mascara – Lancome Hypnose Drama and I’ve been reminded just how amazing it is; then I went for something I’ve never tried before but heard good things about – the Burberry Kisses Lipstick in Sheer Rose Blush and finally a budget essential, the Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl in Black. Check out Fabled.com here – link – and prepare to spend.
